What do you mean by swap ?
Can I use the 12mm for R8 and S8 ?, or i have to change lens when I change format ?
I will definitly offer to my friends and relatives to do transfers for them, since I invest in such a good scanner.... I should make it available .. :-)

If you plan to do the transfers for others then 12mm is easier to swap. The resolution with the 12mm and BUC02 camera is 1280x1024. Quite honestly I have not seen that much difference going with the higher resolutions unless you want to use a high quality large monitor. On my 17" laptop no difference at all.

There is a lens on it, I asked the guy about it, no answer yet... if it could be a 12mm i'd be happy... In read from you that the 16mm is more difficult to align and use, but I have R8mm to transfer, no s8 yet...

Took another look at the problem clip and here is what I found.
This particular Kodak film has perforation pitch equal to 3.15mm.

Looks like the pitch should be over 4mm. The claw pitch is very close to 3.15mm. Measured this with the microscope.

This is so marginal that the claw missies the perforation and slips under the film. This causes the film to move a bit and since the trigger is still generated you get the shifted frame.

The claw pitch is controlled by the end of the travel screw that is sealed with epoxy. So off the top of my head I would say that the potential solution is to break the seal and adjust the screw. Will try this.

Hi, New to the forum and for scanning our family movies. I was reading the first posts from Stan in 2018, and wondered if the project still exist... aparently, yes... :-) I would like to buy a scanner, and modify it to get better results... I saw a Magnasonic FS81 at a better price than Wolverine (much better) and since I only want to have the frame and add new hardware and cam, I tought it would be ok... but then, will it work with the Hawkeye mods, and where can I get this mod ? Thank you for all this work !!!

So I remember a while back I had a clip that had lots of jitter. I rescanned it this morning with the Hawkeye setup with the UX226 camera and 16 mm lens and the jitter is still there and pretty bad actually.

I will be checking this pretty closely and doing some measurements of the claw and the film but my suspicion at this point is that it is the film stock since other clips on that reel are ok.

The first clip Johann has a lateral jitter i.e. you can see the sprocket hole jittering from left to right. Have seen some reports similar to that. The film is moving forward and backwards not to the left and right in the gate. Possible cause could be that the film is narrower than the gate. Make sure the film type switch is all the way to the end. Also you can open up the gate and advance the film a notch at a time and observe how the claw engages the film.
The second clip is similar to Marco's issue, as Marko said it already.

    Hi Johann,
this second example looks similar to my periodic vertical jitter issue:

    Hello everyone! Hi Stan!

So here are two short clips.

Here is a scan, where I haven't increased the friction of the feeding reel axle and one can clearly see, the periodic wobble of of the lower part of the image (@Stan: it is not really a smearing effect, I would say):

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vol...ew?usp=sharing

The second clip is a scan, where the periodic wobbling of the image is not seen, but the overall jittering of the frames is quite obvious:

I am really curious, if I am the only one experiencing this behaviour - especially the first one.

    Greetings!
