Hi Xander, the cinema is fitted with 35mm, 16mm, 2k digital, the digital films come on hard drives called DCPs (Digital Cinema Packages), I can and do run classic films from time to time, they are supplied on these DCPs or if I can find a film print I will screen it that way, the digital projector is not connected to any domestic dvd or bluray player but it can be. It is amazing to see how fast things can change.
NZ is currently in a 12 day lockdown in auckland to try to contain the spread.
The BEST option currently is PRAYER FIRST.
Also, passive treatment seems to be helping. This has been successful in people with corona and their recovery:

In Ontario, we have been fluctuating just under 100 new cases per day... We were as low as 33 one day, and up to 115 the next day. Very erratic. Keep safe all!

Auckland is in level three and the rest of the country continue on level two for a short time more, which is good news for us in the South Island. We were out and about shopping yesterday, you do have to fill in your details when arriving, say at a cafe for contact tracing etc, but this is what we did before, so its nothing new. Hopefully the quick actions in dealing with this cluster will mean, that in a couple of weeks things will be back to normal. I for one is really impressed how its being handled in a such a professional way.
We are heading into what used to be the height of the winter flu season, so those precautions I think might also help in reducing the effect of that virus as well. All over 65 year olds like me get free flu jabs, so we had those done a couple of months ago. I must add that the old public health system has been great to deal with over the last year.
I remember on a visit to the UK in 1992 I picked up a nasty bug coughing etc. We were soon to fly back to NZ. I visited the local GP in Scotland. After seeing him and on my way out, I asked his receptionist how much for the visit, as I had not payed taxes in the UK for the last 20 years, She looked at me and smiled and simply said National Health....brilliant eh! you cant ask for more.
Anyway enough of this ramble hope everyone is taking care.....
New Zealand leader has said Auckland's Covid-19 outbreak will get worse before it gets better, and warned of extended lockdowns after the country reported th...

Well things are a lot better now and hopefully, it will stay the way for a while "the track, trace, and isolate" does work to reduce the spread as proven at the moment. However world wide things I see are not looking good, so hope that will improve. Today with restrictions now lifted this week, we were allowed to go and watch the last game of the season.

I also hope that, as in England, the fact that you will soon me having summer there that will also help keep the infection rate down. Getting to autumn has seemingly massively increased the percentages here from the overall low level in summer. Though more testing is also showing up cases that may have been undetected in the past.

I do notice when we are out and about many people using this app, do you have it in the UK? its a good idea for contact tracing.
Overall people here have been responsible to listen to the experts and doing the right thing, you will always though have the odd idiot, who thinks they don't need to bother, but thankfully there are not to many of them. In the long run I think, countries like the UK with its NHS, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and others that have a public health service are very fortunate. Looking back to when my parents when they were in there 80s living in the UK, they had brilliant medical help from the NHS, a cost they would never been able to afford in the private sector. I think we are going to see more long term health issues with this virus, and its only the public system like the NHS that I feel will be able to provide it for many folk.
Why should you use the NZ COVID Tracer app? What does it do with the codes you scan? How does it work? Dr Bloomfield answers a few of your questions. Downloa...
