Well folks yesterday I had a bit of a sort out with old DVDs and came across this one. I must have bought it around 2004-2005 during one of my breaks from the projection room at the cinema at the mall. For many years now, old DVDs were worth very little, if anything, as the market was flooded with DVDs. Times seem to have changed, and its now getting harder to find those older titles, so it might be time to hang onto some of this stuff.

This special "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" DVD is loaded with extras, including a 32 page storybook and that's something you don't get with the blu-ray

Anyway if you are not into blu-ray, but DVD, this special edition on the film is the one to look out for.

Sadly so many blu-ray release are not presented in this way instead of just a plastic box that they come in.

Saturday night musical "Mary Poppins" picture and sound was outstanding, nice "bright colors" and that is something missing from a lot of movies these days.

Looks like you are having a mini Dick Van Dyke season there Graham. I watched Chitty on UK TV last night.

What stands out in both Chitty and Mary Poppins is the amazing writing of the Sherman Brothers.

I received a Baz Luhrmann blu-ray boxset from Amazon last week, so we did Moulin Rouge on Saturday evening. I sense it is one of those movies that divides opinion, but I've loved it ever since it was released back in 2001. The Blu-ray release has spectacular video and audio quality and the film is a feast for the senses.

Brian I remember reading about it in "Film Making" long ago. I never did buy it, and to date have never seen the film, At that time it just did not interest me enough to purchase it.

Xander That's another film I never got around to watching. I do remember one particular night being flat out, doing two private interlock screenings one after another of Pearl Harbor, and at the same time running Moulin Rouge from one platter to another down the roof, and thinking then, that if something goes wrong with this little lot I am in the "poo" well, a slightly stronger word was used, but I can't use here, so that's my memory of Moulin Rouge I was sure glad to get out of the place that night. I might get to watch it sometime soon.

Last week I did watch on the VP, something I had never watched before and that is "Yellow Submarine" way back in the 1960s I always wanted to live like most of us I am sure, in a Yellow Submarine but it never happened.

I really enjoyed watching it the other night, but I would say, it might not to be everyone taste

Watch Oliver last night then today I watched the Featurette and a interview with Mark Lester and Ron Moody.There was a intermission and I remember when the Film come out there were Oliver Twist caramel Lollies with the Movie on the box I wished I still had the box

Every so often I like to watch "South Pacific" this particular blu-ray disc, is from the box set featured on the previous page. The quality of picture and sound is certainly impressive. I used the little Epson VP, and I must say the more I use it, the better I like it. What I enjoy the most is seeing rich color on the screen and "South Pacific" is certainly one of them.
