Can't praise TPTV and the collectors they work with enough. Superstars all!

Screw archives, quite frankly, if an archive wants to archive it, and the production company wasn't wise enough to properly copyright and keep it in copyright, then let them bid on it like everyone else, and a big show of thanks to the seller for putting it up for auction, and he has every right to market it on any "platform" he wants.

The BBC (and I think any other copyright owner) would not pay for it they would just ask to borrow it to copy to a file for their use and archive, then return the film to you.

The BBC does not have to copyright any production here it is automatic. Also the production company might not own the whole production. Look at the trouble the BBC is having with their old version of 1984 and the estate of the book's author.
