I guess film from the 1950's will outlast other formats if correctly stored. The good projectors may suffer from poor storage i.e. damp places, areas where grease is in the atmosphere and hairs from animals. Don't try and dismantle projectors that are stuck !! I use a liberal amount of Super Servisol spray and gently coax the mechanisms to and fro until the motor can begin to operate. You will need lots of patience and long handled tweezers to get rid of all the accumulated dirt. Keep all oil away from the film track. I've just restored 2 old machines and they now sound like new. The A1/231 bulbs deteriorate but seldom burn out. Clean the bulb terminals with sandpaper and smear Copperease grease on the terminals.
