I turned 59 last Saturday and started collecting in this most wonderful hobby of ours 43 years ago when for my 16th birthday I bought my very first projector which was a Voigtlander Dynalux Super8 (which I still have - but doesn't run) from the PhotoValue shop that was then situated on Tottenham Court Road.

It was followed a few days later by a visit to Portland Films to buy: Easy Street - 400'; Flying Deuces - 200'; A Night In Casablanca - 400'....all shown for the very first time on Christmas Day morning - still the very best Christmas Day and presents ever!! 😊

I turned 70 this year and sometimes feel it. Wish I was 30 again when I worked as a projectionist/manager. I think digital is great but it doesn’t do it for me like reel film does. Bring back the good old days.
Best wishes to everyone for Christmas and a happy new year.

I remember visiting Paul Adsett with my family when we went to Florida in 2005 and Paul and his family made us so welcome...I reckon Paul must be about 65 now hey Paul?

            Don't I wish Mark!

Nice to see the Ukes Mark one of which I think is a Keech model.

My doctor told me I should stop counting the years when passed 60 so I have ha. Best to everyone.

                          Hi to all

Really enjoyed hearing all the responses and it’s certainly been a turbulent couple of years… hopefully though the clock for 2022 will tick much more positively! Here’s wishing you all a fabulous January… with a little tune as well!

PS if anyone can tell me the original name of the band of the cover below- of the song I’ve recorded… and the year it was a hit in the UK I’ll send them a nice quality Pathe news review of 1958 200” Derann release. Just need to pay postage.

Enjoy the tune… remember… name of original group… year it was a hit and position it hit in the UK charts.

take care and I send you the very best from UK and my colleagues in the NHS. Stay safe.😊🤗👍

If I can survive this winter , I will hit 81 mid May. I have loved film and equipment since I was 10, I wake up in the morning thinking about it , and dream about it at night. My wife thinks I am a little obsessive, but we are still together after 55years !
We are all so lucky sharing this wonderful hobby, long may it continue for years to come.
                            John
