As of yesterday, we reached the one month until departure from our old house, to our new house! Our old house is a, quite frankly, delapadated 1973 Nashua trailer. Looks like hell on the outside, but nice and homey on the inside, but honestly, after 50 years, falling apart. Leaks and such. Besides, though we owned it, we were sick and tired of paying someone else a lot fees every month. We wanted our own home, own it, and owe no one else. After 16 years if scrimping and saving, (and that isn't easy with a film hobby, hee hee) that dream is coming true. We will be moving into a built in 2006, brick home, and it even has 5 empty lots behind it, that will be ours! So far, we have about 60 or more percent of our house packed, a good start, we won't be behind the proverbial "8 ball". Still, I am already going thru our old digs, and getting nolstalgic. All of our kids, having grown up here so far. My wife and I's first home. ECT.

I'd love to have the room for a private screening room, but I think I will wait on that, but I will post some photos of the "before/after". With those 5 empty lots attached to the property, there will be a lot of room for backyard projections! I've been working out ideas for the framework for a deluxe screen, with some light wood framework, a nice clean silk sheet, and easy enuf to store in the garage!

That's about two thirds of the collection. The other third is on "cold storage", as in optical sound, potential fade or already a little faded. I love my man cave! A room for me! The best thing is that we paid cash. No mortgage! Now, where are those rare features I have always wanted? I'll finally be able to snatch them up! Many thanks for your help, Doug!

We have an enormous backyard, not pictured, and it's going to be two thing. A butterfly Haven, complete with lovely wildflowers blanketing the whole thing, with Milkweed around all the edges, lots of Monarch butterflies around these here parts, and in meantime, I will start our orchard in the midst of it, but that will take years. One thing that people who have owned a regular home don't realize they have, and we now have, is space! In our old home, a 1972 Nashua trailer, we lived in a trailer park, with neighbors, on all sides, only about 6 feet away. There was always too much noise and no privacy. The quiet at night now, is just heavenly!
