Nice one Osi! I don't know anything about property prices in the USA but if they're anything like here in the UK, buying for cash is one heck of an achievement. Having space all around the property is just amazing too.

That's good I've been receiving sales info (and offers of vouchers if I book to view it) for a "luxury retirement apartment" starting price ยฃ826,000!!!!! I could buy a brewery for ยฃ750,000+ that seems to be bigger than their entire development.

Screw dream home ... Buy dream business! In all seriousness, buying a house was getting further and further away as a dream or a reality. If it wasn't for a " perfect storm" of things on the last three years, it wouldn't have been possible, even with 16 years of planning.

$45,000! That is just insane!! You need almost that much for a deposit on a half decent house here in the UK.

Well done Osi ,out here you can't get much for under $500.000 these days, next door went to a young couple late last year for $350.000 and they thought they were lucky at that price. New Zealand has become a "very" expensive place these days, to either rent or buy.

Great being mortgage free to Osi, it took us years and heaps of overtime to achieve that magic moment never again will we borrow money, I remember back in the late 1980s the bank interest rates went crazy, and climbed up to 21%. I still remember getting a letter from the bank reminding us they could repossess if we did not keep up with the higher payment, they sent it to everyone. It took a certain Prime Minister at the time, to come down hard on the banks, it worked they brought the interest rates down, good guy he got my vote

              All he best

Congratulations - that looks a great move. I wondered about the location? I share the amazement concerning the price - surely you left out a zero when stating this!

There's something really exciting about moving into a new home and we've done it enough times. Yours looks a fantastic place and with so much potential filmwise. It appears to be out in the sticks somewhere? How near is your nearest town? Hope you'll be really settled and happy Osi.

Well we live in Sayre OK, a small but limited town, but just ten miles away is the bigger city of Elk, Elk City, and that's bigger and had all we need, that we can't get here, and no zero's left out! We think we'll put a new roof on the house this coming summer, as the roof goes, so does the house. I'm thinking about buying a nice large pull down screen for the man cave, but there is a large off white, slightly bluish wall for those REALLY BIG SCOPE presentations!

Well done Osi - not so much a bargain- more of a steal! 45k over here would be just about enough to purchase a garage to put the car in๐Ÿ‘

No doubt about it, Osi got himself a truly amazing deal there. Average price for a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house in Orlando with 1/3 acre lot is about $380,000 right now.

Wow Paul that is cheap. There is an average house across the street that is trying to sell for the past 2 months. Started at over $900,000, now $824,000. Of course it's here in California. But Osi that is a great deal. Great place to raise your kids.
