Hi All,
I was speaking to Steve of the Reel Image and I asked him about "Raiders of the Lost Ark" feature which I am looking for. He told me that he could get Brand New Prints from Germany in Scope and English Stereo Sound for around $750 and some change. I think he told me he could get other titles as well.
Since the Euro is a little lower for us in the USA it is a great time to purchase these new prints. He says many are placing orders with him. He needs a deposit down to order the print and then you can pay in layaway until the film is paid off.
This is a great alternative to paying the $$$ for used prints via Ebay plus it will help the Super 8 labs printing up the films to keep printing.
Once I figure out what other titles he has I am biting the bullet while the dollar is relatively doing well against the Euro. I think this is great news.

Spiderman
Young Frankenstein
The Mummy
Dracula
Ghost of Frankenstein

Steve O. sent a reel of one of these to Cinesea last October: sound and image were really great!

The interesting part was the reel had German titling.

-but how often do you get a chance to see "Die Welt ist nicht genug"?

If I had the bucks I'd do "You Only Live Twice" (...or the German equivalent!) for sure!

Klare, Osborne did mention almost all features would have German titles. If am right, You Only Live Twice should be available to purchase immediately too.

My name is "Steve".

All I'm saying about the German titling is I found it interesting.

I'd love to have one of these films titled in any language I can read!

Sorry about that, Steve. I initially typed "Steve, Steve did mention..." which I thought was awkward. Sorry again.

Woooow..this is a good news. No need to spend ridiculous money (remember Independence Day for $1000 or Star Wars for $1200) for our hobby,

Steve if you are bothered with thGerman credit title, you can print English title custom made (taken from DVD/BluRay) using various ways, e.g Cineavator or other type of machine or the easiest one direct shot frame by frame.

Nahhh!!!

I just got home from two weeks in Germany, if German language bothered me I'd never have gone there!

I think the most surprising thing I learned was the Autobahn is exhausting!

-I drove from Berlin to Frankfurt in one shot and found all I was good for after we got to the hotel was chugging a liter of bier to relax!

Fortunately there was plenty!

I didn´t know the last one was available.

I think Star Wars 2 & 3 will refer to the later SW Attack of the Clones & Revenge of the Sith as that is those films officially numbered after the prequel titles released.

Regarding Return of the Jedi, did you mean the availability this title on super 8mm or from Steve Osborne, because Jedi was available on super 8mm from Derann, right?

By Star Wars 2 and 3 I meant Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back. Sorry for the confusion.

There are a lot of places in the system where the speed is limited by electronic signs and the lanes have individual limits.

The first time I went I spent a lot of time doing over 160 KPH (100 MPH) in the left lane. This time (10 years older) I was not running too much over 130 in the middle lane and still I found the level of vigilance it took to drive safely at that speed for several hours at a shot was absolutely brain frying!

We brought our GPS with us. It was hysterical listening to the mauling it gave German street names! We'd get up to the intersection, read the sign and say "Oh! That's what it's trying to say!"

(Sorry for the off-topic!)

Hello, thanks for the asnwers.
I know Return Of The Jedi was released by Derann, but I don´t know nothing about Steve Osborne films.
So, if any american super 8 fan want to tell me if there are new super 8 releases or american old releases like Return Of The Jedi, please send me and e-mail; arri16bleq@yahoo.es
If any german fan want to tell me what super 8 features were released in germany it would be great for me.
I want to know what titles were in the market, and I am talking about all that were and are printed by order.
I just want to buy.

Can it really be this quick? if so then why is CHC having to wait months and months for their titles to be printed. I was informed that the lab was understaffed and overworked hence the reason why Phil was having to wait so long.

Graham, am just relaying information. So I don't know how it happens this fast.

With new features available for the prices mentioned, perhaps prices of used features will dip?

It's good news if the high price of used features is helping to make new ones seem good value! I suspect that at least some of the people paying the highest prices on eBay have no idea that new prints are still available.

Does anyone know if the lab has made any progress with their plans to be in a position to reintroduce polyestar stock? Whenever I hear of a recent print of a feature being great quality, it makes me wonder if anything described that way can possibly be on the old yellowing acetate stock, so could anyone who has recently bought a colour feature comment on this?

A correction in the List:
Star Wars 2 is "Empire Strikes Back" and Star Wars 3 is Episode 3 "Revenge of the Sith".
Only this two Star Wars features was released from the german source.

The lab normally takes a little while (I'd say 2 months at least): they need to get an order at least for two prints of the same title to be in a position to supply it, Graham.

Hi Adrian, how are you? There is the chance to get prints on polyester, but as far as I know, no balance stripe on them [Frown] .
You are totally right about their 'yellowing' acetate. I was told a year back or so - maybe more - that this 'old' stock was intended to be soon replaced since it was pratically exhausted.
Well, I'd say it is not yet, since the very last German prints I had on acetate were still on the same, yellowing stock.

Thanks for your kind comments on my pics from ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, Hugh. Well, German prints, referring to their prices, were never that cheap.

Does Steve (Reel Image) have an official web site? I asked someone else before, but I never had a reply.
