Greeting from Phoenix, Arizona! I just purchased an Elmo ST-800 sound projector. It's in mint condition and appears to be brand new still in the box. When I turn the lamp on the light is so dim that you can't see anything. The book calls for a 12V-100W Halogen lamp with cold mirror EFP. Does this particular lamp loose it's brightness after many hours of use or is the projector at fault? I read on a forum somewhere that the lamp has a lug on the rim and you need that lug to lock the lamp in place? The ones I have seen on the internet do not appear to have this lug on the rim at all? Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Roger

Roger, a good bet is that the lamp connector is corroded. Try removing the lamp and reinserting a few times to see if the brightness improves.
