Hello,
I'm after some advice on restoring an Elf projector. I've acquired an Elf ST/M projector that needs some tlc. The motor runs and the lamp works. It's missing it's belts which I'll replace as I have spares. However it needs a thorough cleaning, has sticky levers and who knows what else until I get stuck in. I want to turn this into a small restoration project.
My question, what would you guys suggest is the best/right way of removing old, sticky grease from the levers and other parts and what kind of lubrication should be used in some areas? I'm not looking to dismantle the whole projector, only the main areas that clearly need cleaning and replacing. If bigger issues arise then I'll look into sending for repairs by a professional.

I am not sure that denatured alcohol is generally available in the UK. Quite probable, for us, is to use Isopropyl Alcohol.
