Hi All, Well, this has been a strange few weeks for me.... I think i must be bored.... Started a new hobby, also bought another super 8 machine , and so am fixing a number of things. There are some eumigs coming up recently locally. I just bought a S938 stereo projector, near MINT...and there is another eumig for sale currently , an S936 which looks more used... I ended up with the S938 since he was so close to me it was worth getting it shipped... I am just getting familiar with it and have been getting great help from Paul Adsett in the meanwhile.... I want to make sure it is running top notch! I will post pics soon once i get a chance. Belts seem newer so everything seems good so far.... I just ordered some bulbs from Steve osbourne so am excited to try the brighter bulbs So far, it is truly amazing and fun to have some more bells and whistles to play with. The sounds is great. I have a couple films i may try rerecording on that have bad tracks....
I would like to know what lenses fit this machine so i can perhaps look for a better lens than the stock 1.3. It is fine for now however!

Thanx very much for the advice folks! much appreciated. It will take me awhile to get into this. My son who loves to help is at camp this week so i am just cleaning it really, until he returns... Hi Osi, I found it on a local buy and sell called Kijiji. If you serch kijiji canada right now, you will see the Eumig S936 for sale i mentioned... I just look once a week at this site and hope something local shows up...local being within 100 kms for shipping. This eumig is HEAVY. I haven't tested against my ST1200HD, but i bet they would be good, one in each arm, for doing curls
I have too many super 8 machines now...i need to start unloading some stuff soon before the boss unloads me [ August 22, 2019, 10:00 PM: Message edited by: Mathew James ]

Maurizio's excellent suggestion, about limiting track 2 head wear by relieving the pressure pad fingers, is something he posted several years ago and I have followed his advice ever since. What I did was to use another pressure block from an old 926 and I just cutoff the two balance track plastic fingers. I now only use the original unmodified pressure pad when projecting stereo films. So 90% of the time the track 2 head is seeing no wear at all - a huge save on head wear. Yes, there are much better lenses available for the 938 which will noticeably improve brightness, contrast, and sharpness. If I were Matt I would look for an f1.0 lens, certainly 1.1 max. Eumig made an f1.0 zoom, and I use a Kodak Ektar f1.0 fixed 22mm lens off an old Kodak M100, which is well worth looking out for. The good news is that Matt appears to have a fully functional Eumig S938 in mint condition so he can now run with it. [ August 22, 2019, 02:03 PM: Message edited by: Paul Adsett ]

thanx Janice! *Leon, the S940 looks nice too, and i agree with osi that i like the analog better than the digital counter look. Would be nice to have one of each. *Paul, thanx so much for that info! Much appreciated! I was able today with my kids who have returned from camp and like to help to clean the lens! It was easy to do as you say. Used a small pin, popped them off, unscrewed and cleaned, put back in reverse.
I have a question concerning cleaning the sound head, which is on pg 22 in the manual. Problem i just noticed is that there is a wedge tool in the manual, but i unfortunately did not get this tool with the machine. Is there a way to safely follow similar instructions perhaps using a different method? I would like to clean everything to make sure everything is working maximum.
Thanx for the advice of the brighter bulbs and THANX to STEVE OSBORNE for shipping new bulbs to me so fast. I love the reel image magazine included and see that you have a nice write-up Paul on the 'eumig outclasses elmo' which i can't wait to read... I am going now to try Steve's brighter xenophot bulb tonight, maybe some L&H
