I took a look around the net to try and find a site with some details of Walton Films - nothing. Castle and Blackhawk are well supported, but nothing dedicated to Walton. Or did I miss it?

You are right, nothing of consequence can be found!Pity, they turned out great 4x400ft digests.Walton prints certainly held their colour. I suspect a number of collectors would have heaps of Walton films and catalogues.Didn't the firm evolve from the Wallace Heaton empire?Trev

LPG films in the UK have a small booklet about Walton Films History along with a Silent 200 foot B/W print of Chaplins 'The Cure'. I don't know how to contact Larry P though, maybe someone else will be able to point you in his direction.

I have a very nice 24 page WALTON super 8 catalogue No.29 from 1979. There's no historical or bio-info, but if you need anything from it, let me know.

Any time you could copy it and post it - let me know the cost - I'd be grateful. My Internet connection is so slow, mail would be faster!

I was looking through some of my old paper work and have still got one of Walton's old catalouges from 1971/2. Only film titles but if of any interest i'd be happy to copy it and send on.

I remember in a back issue of Coming Attractions aka The Reel Image, there was a note about Walton folding. But before they did, they were offering that mentioned booklet and Chaplin film as a swan song. Smart thinking on their part.

Recently on EBAY, I lost out on a bid for a 1969 WALTON Catlaogue - That would have been a prime year to check over all the existing titles they had, even some Leon Errol I want - I say now is the time to write a book dedicated to all the obscure companies that we treasure - Shorty

I have a spare '69 Walton Cat. in new condition. I'd swap it for a Blackhawk cat. of the same period ... .

Yes, I know I have dug this topic up from the past, but have just received the excellent little Walton history booklet package.

It arrived still sealed with a copy of Chaplin in The Cure, a selection of film frames showing how the various small formats were printed by Walton (quad 8mm, 9.5 from 16mm, double 8 etc) and the booklet.

A great little history piece from Walton, mine was on UK ebay a week or so ago. Highly recommended!

David

The history booklet is just that, a history of Walton, it does not contain all of their releases.

The best research on the subject was done by Tim Christian, who sadly as Joe points out, passed away some time ago.

I am sure it will show up on ebay UK again.

Have a look at this :-
http://www.waltonfilms.org.uk/
The site has been like this for a long time, there will be plenty to put on it.
