I recently asked if Kodak produced a 50Hz version of its Pageant projector, but this did not result in a definite reply. I can now answer. They did, and I've just bought one!

I had always envied the Forum members who spoke in glowing terms about their projectors, but for me, a US model was out of the question due to US voltage and frequency not being in accord with the UK and Europe.

I found a Kodak Pageant model AV-12M6-L on German eBay. I then discovered that the "-L" is the magic letter for Europe: 210-250 volts @ 50Hz. At this good news I confirmed my purchase.

The projector is from 1972 and is optical/magnetic/record with transistorised amplifier and auto 2/3 blade shutter (dependant on sound or silent speed.) It uses a mains voltage pre-focus lamp and is normally supplied with the A1/9 750 watt although it will accept higher wattages.

I also found an identical model for sale on a Spanish web-site, for those who may be interested I give below a link.

Click on the first picture and it will open into a larger pic with a right arrow, continue clicking and it will give a slide show of all eighteen images.

Well done Maurice on finding a rare projector for your collection. It seems that Kodak sold 210-250V 50Hz Pageants in Europe in the 70s at least. I wonder if there are any in the UK these days? In 1972 they didn't seem to be officially imported by Kodak nor were they listed in the Movie Maker annual guide or by Wallace Heaton in their Blue Book in the 60s. However I'm sure a few were obtained by special order from the USA or from Europe.
