I don't know how many of you usually attend flea markets. Here in Milan there are 3 different every sunday plus other two once a month. Sometime you may find real bargains on items regarding our collection, other times oddities, many other times things sold for more than their real value, with conditions varying from very good to terrible. Lots of times you may also see 15mt reels with private film that the owners decided to throw away (and this makes me really sad, as it's the same thing as throwing pictures in the rubbish). During these years I found lots of things but the ones that remain in my mind (and in my house) are: - a Pathe DS8 BTL camera in great condition - a Fujica Z800 - some film negatives and work prints of documentaries (including a 16mm negative on Formula 1 with Niki Lauda, and a rare Barilla documentary in super8) - some lenses, a couple of projectors and some full features.
But the strangest and sillyest thing was found today. There were two 35mm cans with some 16mm rolls inside and no titles on the cans. I had a quick look and I realized they were negatives, but the perforation was strange. A deeper look and I realized that they were double super8. I hoped they were some shorts or cartoons and so, when I was back home, I had a looked at the images... Well... they are porn shorts! I could have imagined everything but that, and I started to laugh!
BTW, every time I go I hope to find a GS1200, but this kind of bargain happens to other people
