Sad though it is I have embarked on a mission to collect all the 400ft digests released by MGM. I think I'm doing quite well and already have quite a few titles, but, my reason for this post is that I am unsure what the complete release list of these titles should be.

I have put together below what I think is the complete list, I have taken it from an MGM Brochure, perhaps you good fellows in collector land can tell me if there are any further titles that should be added.

In addition I understand that the following titles were also available in three parters’:

Where eagles Dare, West World, Ice Station Zebra, Guns for San Sebastian, Mutiny on the Bounty.

Were there any others?

MGM did BEN HUR as a 3 x400 in Cineavision Scope and a very good version it turned out to be.

Hi Mike, Meteor and the Formular I believe, I have both prints for sale 3x400 origional boxes, best Mark.Meteor is on a 1200 foot mind. £25 for Formular and £30 for Meteor 0 .And West World and Guns For san Sebastian.OB boxes.3x400 both £25

Hi Mike

Dr Zhivago, Quo Vadis Clash of The Titans and The Dirty Dozen came out as 3x400s
as well.

The Formula was the last MGM release in 1981. Nice print but
talk about sending you to the land of nod. Bet you it will never go pink either!!

M.G.M. also did a 2x400ft release of 'The marx Bros.' "A Night At The Opera" albeit in B/W, but really worth seeking out.

Dear Mike,

Sorry about not noticing "A Night At The Opera" already on your list, well here are some 3x400fts from M.G.M. to look out for, but unfortunately they only came out very limited, so are harder to find. "Viva Las Vegas", "The Time Machine", "The Cincinatti Kid" and I'm not to sure about this one "Tarzan The Apeman"~'Bo Derek', adverts were placed in trade mags, but I've never seen a print (yet). I hope this list helps, these titles crept out just before the F/L explosion of titles, but I have seen them (at least the first 3 titles) on dealers lists.

It's funny the way some of these digests seem to endure(eg Quo Vadis/Ben Hur/Meteor/M on the B)whilst others(eg Coma/Logans Run) just faaaade away! With some of them only the boxis worth collecting!Trev

Dear Mike,

Just a footnote, "Meteor" was a joint American International/Warners release, and the 8mm prints have the A.I. logo at the front, so you should really knock this one off the official M.G.M. releases, although all the M.G.M./Fox/A.I. were distributed by Ken Films in the U.S., hence the similar looking boxes/packaging.

Hello once again regarding the MGM Digests.

I was curious if MGM released a multi part digest of
the Liza Minelli, Robert DeNiro film: NEW YORK, NEW YORK?

If so, does anyone own a copy that they can report upon the
details?

Michael,

The only thing released from "New York, New York" was a Derann 400' version, which rarely comes up these days.
