I put in a new belt drive and its working; almost. The film is not threading properly. It is threading but the film won't come out the take up reel side. I want to take off the front cover but I'm not sure how. There were two screws to take off the back cover but I don't see any for this side. Thank you.

What brand/model projector do you have?

Bob, the whole plastic front cover, or most of it, probably pulls straight off with a little effort. Then you can get at the lamp, lens, and film path....

As Joe says, the side cover probably just pulls off. Having looked at a picture of this model I agree with him.

OK I got the front off. I messed up a few feet of film but at least now I understand how the projector feeds the film. The frame as shown on the screen is half off i.e. split. How do I adjust that?

Do you mean that the picture on the screen has a part of it that should be lower or higher ? If it is not that, ignore my answer. If it is that, on each projector there is a button (often near the focus adjustment knob) to adjust the picture.

Use the Framer to adjust the vertical placement of the film in the gate.

As it's a dual gauge projector the framer control has a large range of adjustment. The frame lines of the two gauges are different in their position in relation to their perforations.

OK it's up and running. Now I need to do some film splicing, put the projector back together and set up my video recorder to try and copy some of the film. Thanks for all your replies.
