Here is a really outstanding [Smile] projector AD from the 1950's featuring British actress and model Sabrina selling a Bell & Howell slide projector.

 -

I seem to remember that Walton Films released several short films of Sabrina. They were all on 9.5mm as they could not fit her into an 8mm frame! [Big Grin]
Does anybody here have any of the Sabrina films?

... and in 3D, no doubt! [Smile]

Well, humanity learned oh so long ago, that sex most certainly sells nearly anything. I've gotta admit, I think the add overdoes it, as I wasn't even looking at the projector. [Frown]

I've GOT ONE!! At home with Sabrina on 9.5. What a girl!. Not only well proportioned above, but she had a tiny waist which accentuated it. Actually I have two copies. Anyone interested?

Maybe I'm too practical about it, but I look at her and think "Jeeze! Her back must HURT!"

(Once an engineer...)

The disturbing thought is if she's still among us she's got her 80th birthday well in the rear view mirror.

That is the best! What Projector is right!
Someone may poke an eye out! [Smile]
Maybe a Cinemascope version should have been released.

They did'nt call her the UK's Jayne Mansfield for nothing! Although IMO she even has Mansfield beat.
Companies have always known that glamour can sell a product. Here's Bolex using a gorgeous girl to sell their new 18-5 Super projector in 1964:

Now, I actually like that one better! I think the pose and full frontal works better, less distraction, more complimentary to the product.

I remember reading many years ago in a book about the history of Advertising, one of the "cardinal" rules in advertising was that the product must not be obscured in any way shape or form. I think the first, even with the sexy girl, does violate that rule, as your attention really is not on the product. Too much distraction.

Yeah, I know, "too technical OSI"

Pat,
Have you ever considered doing a stand-up comedy act beyond the film forum? [Big Grin]

Sabrina would have made a great helper for Roger's magic act. With all that distraction, he could make all kinds of mistakes and nobody would notice! [Big Grin]
For the record, Sabrinas vital measurement was 42.5 inches (108 cm)!

Hi Roger,
Changing the subject slightly for a moment, did you ever see the movie The Prestiege? All about early 1900's magic and the hate between two competing magicians, each trying to top the others act. A really great movie IMO, which also stars a gorgeous Scarlett Johanssen as the magicians assistant.
There, I have only changed the thread subject slightly...... [Smile]

Incidentally, I wonder how much the value of Terry's 9.5mm Sabrina print has gone up since this conversation began! [Big Grin]

Yeah Paul,

It was one of my favorite movies it was full of twists & turns.
I have a slow weekend so I think I will rent it.
No doubt the sabrina film has sparked more interest! [Smile]
