Hi, can anyone help?, I have the cresta pulse sync sv2000, but am
having problems getting the pulse up to level that gets the rear vu meter up to the centre position, which is where its suppose to be for optimum synchronisation. This level has been put through a high quality mixer to increase the levels to what looks like line level to me, which I thought would be enough, but no amount of adjustment of mixer or volume control of the elmo seams to make it out of the blue zone. I have the gs interface box too, which works fine. Does the needle on the vu meter have to be in the middle zone?. Any help much appreciated.

Hi
Yes the needle MUST be in the center of the field. But I do not think proper tuning thereof is just a matter of level: perhaps it's a matter of frequency - I'm not sure but are you positive the Cresta is supposed to work with the Elmo?

In my opinion it is a matter of level. According to the source you need to sync to, you can feed different frequencies into the machine (25fps pr 23,96 fps).
I use my PC, but when I use an Ipad or PSP to feed the same signal it does not work because the volume is too low. I need to,output at max level with the PC ton get a signal that Is sufficient to get a proper reading of the needle.

Thank you for your replies, I've not tried a different frequency
but maybe I could try this. If you put the elmo into record output of pulse, it really is like a machine gun at very high volume, I have produced a file with audacity in mp3 and outputted this to the gs interface but its no where near loud enough from my laptop, but it is only coming from the headphone socket. This is perfectly ok for use with virtual dj and through a high quality mixer to up the volume. So perhaps the amplitude of my pulse is not big enough. Will have anther go tonight.
