Hi, on sunday i brought a star wars 400ft extract from a seller at blackpool it was the dealer right next door to glynn jones stall ,anyway i brought this thinking it was the complete 2nd extract but was infarct the last part of the film put into correct running order. the seller also had the first extract (so i thought which i already had) but i now believe it may have been the first part put into correct running order i know it sold as was gone at sometime in the day i just wondered if it was someone on her that brought it and that if my theory is correct would they consider selling so that i have the 2 parts .thanks

I just viewed my Star Wars and it is likely I have the opening. It ends when Cushing blows up the home planet of Leia. I was also thinking of asking to buy the second part

Fun story, though you seem to have gotten the better part of the deal Nigel, in that you got all the best parts of the digest in that part 2.

Were you lucky enough to find a stereo re-recorded print? I think that this title/digest has been rewarded as the most re-recorded into stereo by fellow collectors. It just goes to show just how much this hobby is loved in that folks will not only re-edit the digest so that it has the proper chronological flow ...

... but will then even do a edit of the original stereo soundtrack, to the frame, and then add a lovely stereo soundtrack to this two part digest, (which, if they love this film THAT much, they usually put this on a 800ft reel!)

To top; if off even further, the true, ever loving hobbiest and lover of this film, will take it one step further ... they'll buy the low fade parts 1 and 2 of the GERMAN marketing films version of these digests and add yet further footage into the digests (as the marketing STAR WARS version did have more footage not included in the U.S. versions), and then do the other above mentioned steps.

I'm not sure, but I think that Jean Marc did a lovely post in the reviews section about this very process! It's a good read!

Osi, it was Rob Young who created the first splicing of all parts and talked about it here. He inspired the creation of my own cut-down, for which I wrote a step-by-step "how to" somewhere else on the internet.
