Hi,

I have a Sankyo Sound 600 and the retainer that holds the reel on is broken so the reel slips off when turning. I searched around online for either for a replacement part or ideas on how to fix it but found neither.

Anyone have ideas on either question??

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Does anyone have any ideas where I can buy a replacement or how to fix? I realize I can probably buy an entire new projector for $100 but I have sentimental attachment to this one.

Hi Steve and Welcome!

Short of finding another parts projector or someone parting one out... there isn't much you can do to fix that reel post. However you might try using a large grommet or rubber washer that you can slide onto the post and tightly up against the reel it should hold it in place.

My grommet in this photo isn't big enough...but you get the idea.

That's a good idea Janice, seeing that answer I thought ... how about a small "o" ring that slips on the end and against the reel instead, just as easy to do [Smile]

Janice, thanks for the answer, I'll quit worrying about fixing it the "right" way. Your suggestion seems like it will work really well.
