Recently I have been inundated with people asking about these and how much they should pay for one etc etc.

Well, given that these beauties don't come up too often I thought I would share this newly advertised PJ from e bay.

Now's your chance!!

Beware though, low feedback score and despite its fantastic looks,I feel questions definitely need to be asked well in advance of any potential purchase.

Item number 221685627494

Very interested Andrew but with caution. Im also considering a Bauer T610 apparent mint with little use.

Nothing better than the one above Lee (opening title)...but choose wisely!

I'm just loving the rear take up reel hub (only take up reel modified....Why only 1???), but those reels are just awful!
Not Beaulieu in any way, shape or form plus for what its worth, the handbook is only a poor second generation copy by the looks of things.

tread carefully!!

Yes Andrew is spot on with his warnings. I have only purchased one that was working perfectly. I had purchased one that needed over $700 in repairs (looked great though!), the 2nd needed the same, and the 3rd one was the charm!

When they're good though Rik, they are very good indeed as you and I can testify! (To name but two)

I can only imagine that a lot of them must have been abused over the years which is surprising considering what they cost in the first place, but then again,as we all know, it's the same story with the GS1200's though.

After all..plenty of idiotic footballers own Ferraris!

I must admit, I am always instantly sceptical when an item like this becomes available with lots of photographs of it , but only a one line brief description!

I am more than happy with my Beaulieu, bought on Ebay. I first thought, however, there was a problem with the threading but a Belgian member of this forum told me that Beaulieu are sensitive with leader cut and that it has to be done with the Beaulieu cutter. Since I tried it, I haven't missed any thread. It's a beautiful machine.

Always use a tapered cutter Dominique, that's the first lesson learned with these. The opposite applies for Elmo machines, they much prefer the bevelled edge.

The Beaulieu steel guides around the gate are machined to such a high accuracy of minimal tolerance that they really do need the chamfered edges on the film just to give them the correct lead into the gate.

As you quite rightly say Dominique, if you follow this one basic discipline, you will never have an issue threading these lovely machines.

They also never lose a loop while everything is working on them A1

If you purchased one of the ones Ian was selling last year, it doesn't surprise me that the projector works just as intended as they were owned by what I am certain were meticulous owners as was mine, though it had been left out in the wilderness rather too long when I first acquired it.

Now it is used almost daily which very much appears to be what it prefers.

Used but never abused definitely seems the way to go with projector s is my experience.
