Hey folks, some advice here ...

I recently bought a projector from an ebay seller, good deal. His auction stated that he ships within 3 to 5 days. I assumed the seller would take the 5 day version and he did. Not a problem there.

However, the package originally stated that it would be delivered today, (the 1st), and I went on the internet only to find that while he had put in the info on the 25th, (fifth day after I "bought it now"), it was only picked up and shipped as of yesterday!

When I do a "buy it now" auction, I expect prompt service and especially so when a seller states a certain amount of time to ship, and its well over that. I bought it now, and it took eleven days to leave him. To me, that's intolerable. he has a 100 percent rating, so I felt that was a good sign.

How should I raise hell? I'm in the mood to. I would never put off shipping like that, or does ebay also think, "well he put in the info to ship as of 5 days, so therefore it shipped as of his stated shipping".

advice folks?

My advice is let it go. He or she may have a genuine reason for the delay and it sounds like the projector has been shipped now.
I don't see it as any big deal.

Hey Osi,

I usually exercise patience in scenarios where I'm left hanging for a long time. After some time, I contact the seller, when there is no response, I send a short second message that usually gets their attention. When that fails (through ebay), you wait for the item to arrive and leave them negative feedback but, be honest in the feedback. There are questions about delivery and description to "rate" the seller, be completely honest. For example, if the shipping was free, give them 5 stars for that but give them no stars for shipping time.

I would never buy again from a seller that does not communicate with their buyer. I would never buy again from a seller that delays shipping without an explanation that sounds reasonable. I would never buy again from a seller that dosen't describe their items and shipping times appropriately. There are too many other great people selling film equipment out there I would rather hand over my money to.

Business transaction complete, the seller who receives negative feedback sees it and will contact you to revise it. It is up to you to think about it and decide for yourself. I had an eBay seller sell me a TV print of a film that was also red! It was described as Very Good, with fair color and it took a little over two weeks to get to me. After much communication with the seller, he did not give me a refund as promised within the time he said he needed. I left him negative feedback, obviously he responded by apologizing and sending me the partial refund. Later, he asked for me to modify the feedback and I did, simply saying "Thank You."

After all of that, I would buy from the seller again because they did what was right, finally listened to the customer. It may take a few tries to get it right but, don't be afraid to leave justifiably negative feedback. Contact the seller about the item before you "raise hell", it may save you a lot of emotional trouble. Let the feedback speak for itself.

If a seller ships free on ebay, you can not give them 5 stars because it's done by ebay automaticaly.

I would ask the seller politely WTF happened. He may have been hospitalized from a heart attack because of negative feedback on ebay. You just never know.

Just calm down and forget about it Osi, it's not worth the hassle. You have the projector now so all was well in the end.

There must be some miscommunication. The projector was just sent out Monday. However, the seller has been very good about getting back to me and we are working it out. I didn't know it, but he turned out to be a forum friend. I didn't recognize him due to the name he uses on ebay. It looks like things should turn out well.

End of discussion.
