That is very strange, as color Super 8 reels were widely available back in 1977. Don't know how many were actually sold or survive, but this was not rare at the time.

I have to say..I emailed the seller! I told him that there was nothing that was "A New Hope" about that film and that he should probably lower the price and inform the bidders that the film is not the feature lest he have an angry bidder on his hands! Of course...no reply.

A bargain at the price would someone like to buy my Ken 400 footer which is "red" as a beetroot for only $1000 ono it sure is rare

... and the funny thing is that I'm going to have my wife list on her ebay (reel-ality) but early 80's scope "Cineavision" Empire Strikes Back feature, and that one, my friends, is a true rarity, even more so than the STAR WARS Cineavision print!
