Another night up in the Man Cave with the bigger gauge.
Tonight's feast....
Raslin Rockets - 1x 300' - An old style wrestling bout in the style of the British World of Sport as opposed to WWF. However, the bout was from possibly the 1960's, was black and white and was staged, strangely enough, in a certain seaside town in New Jersey by the name of Wildwood. I seem to have heard of that place from somewhere!
Penny Lane - 1x 150' - The Beatles film made to go with the song. The one where they are on horses and have a tea party in a field.
Casablanca - 1x 2200', 1x 1600' - Humphrey and co. Say no more...... except this was my first screening of my 16mm copy since purchase. Ran quite nicely. The eagle eyed amongst you will realize I now have a copy of this on both 16mm and Super 8mm. To answer your next question.... NO!.... neither one for sale!

Finished what turned out to be something of a rebuild on the 16mm projector so a rather large soak test. (Test run)
Watched Bugsy Malone mainly to see if I had as much hair as I did in 1974 on the filming set. Bitter disappointment š
A new nostalgia 1600ft reel assembled as a bit of a local group effort with fellow collectors which will be loaned during the year, a good way to spread the cost of film.
Adverts, Trailers and special interest shorts
Crazy Gang
Ethel Smith on the Hammond organ and a nice lady in real life.
Good old George in Keep Fit
Alice Faye Sing Baby Sing
Ads of Yesteryear DERANN Agfa print.
I can confirm the projector worked fine YAY!

7 minute promo for Bugsy Malone. Triva Stood on set watching Jodie deliver her lines followed by a hand full of cream in the face. Seems a long time ago 1975....
Been servicing my 16mm projectors and sorting some LPP features so watched Outlaw Josey Wales. Lovely colour as well.
Working thru the 80's features next so plenty of screen time to get in.

Thatās a cool title to have Melvin! My dad came over today and we screened some 16mm. Cartoons were Rebel Rabbit (Bugs) 11th Hour (Superman) and The Lone Star State then the feature Hang āem High. It was faded but still had some colorā¦clean print and great movie. I havenāt watched much 16mm lately either so it was nice.

It has been such a long time since I was last in a position to contribute to this thread. My 16mm projectors both developed problems at the same time, which must be in excess of 2 years ago. Thus I stuck to my super 8 collection. However, a trip to Kevin Brown in Nottingham for a full overhaul has proved very beneficial. So tonight, I screened films that have been in my possession most of that time but never watched.
It kicked off with an episode from Sgt.Bilko starring Phil Silvers entitled "Bilko's Casino"
Then...... the one I have been itching to watch for soooooo long......
Close Encounters of The Third Kind - The Special Edition. A flat print bought from a fellow forum member via Ebay AGES ago. Still very good colour with moderate scratching. Extremely watchable and very enjoyable.
.........There will be more 16mm nights coming up as I have a lot more to watch. So "watch this space" !!!!

Tonight:
Confessions of a Train Spotter: Michael Palin's epic journey from London to Scotland with side trips through the world (-and the minds) of railway fans. He takes side trips to a heritage line, the Railway Museum at York, and he rides on an excursion behind the Flying Scotsman.
Confession of a Film Collector:
This wonderful print came from E-bay but is only part one. While I certainly hope Mr. Palin was successful in his journey, until Part 2 pops up (-someday...maybe), I can't be 100% sure he ever got to Scotland!
That's why film collecting these days is a little like fishing: you know what you want, but sometimes you just reel in whatever is swimming past and decide to want that!

Tonight: New Zealand: the Land and its People
This is kind of an 8mm Forum inspired print! I'm not saying I wouldn't have bought it without Graham Ritchie telling us here about his homeland, but it was certainly an incentive!
