Again, red color may be "very good" to some people if there are no splices or sprocket damage -- subjective. Saying the color had faded to red -- objective.
"Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive."
I think the condition of the colour is as important as any other aspect of the film. What if the colour is excellent and the film is full of splices and sprocket damage?
Yes, but sellers are either ignoring my questions or giving me the "i no nuthin' 'bout birthing babies" answer.
Or they get insulted by the question -- I'm sorry, I've bought too many "sound" films that were silent. If I have a doubt, I ask if there is sound. Too many sellers copy and past descriptions and forget to change details. You're wasting your time and mine if the film I receive doesn't have sound. If the pic doesn't show a "sound" sticker -- I ask regardless of the title of the listing, or the description. It's the old Adam & Eve thing -- the bad apples ruin it for everyone else.
What about when the title of the listing lists one film, and the description lists another -- I ask which one is correct -- people then give me answers like I'm the stupid one.

Based on all this, I'd like to hear the opinion of the person here who posted a few weeks ago that they are afraid to sell anymore because of differences of opinion on condition. What camp does he fall into? Wishy-washy description, or detailed as we have pointed out? If it's the former, then no wonder he has run into issues with buyers.
I guess my questions to the seller who never answered me were indeed "stupid" since it eventually sold. It might have been a great print for all I know.
I've been seeing more and more listings lately where the sellers tells us we should go take a walk if we are expecting the print to be mint!
I'm not expecting "mint" prints, but for crying out loud a splice-a-minute, including major jump-cuts, is not acceptable to anyone!
