I agree with Lee and Simon....very exciting that there are new releases out and coming out and then you can enjoy them and then down the line can get something back out of them. Get them new while you can!

PS I can't count how many times after I post something no matter what topic my posts are always at the top of the next page!

I got my two new releases (the Werewolf and Jurassic Park) two days ago (after a long wait, the Belgian customs hold the films for a while) but could only watch them today (for "technical" reasons). What a pleasure to have new prints ! I starter with the Werewolf. Very well edited (as is Jurassic Park). It's in black and white and that's certainly for the best. I will put it with my Halloween films. Jurassic Park is great in super 8. Sound is very good. I'm waiting for other new titles. Thanks a lot, Dave for your work !

Have you bought one in the UK or from the USA Simon. Did it get through OK if from the States.

When I can afford one I`d rather not risk the crazy import fees you can be stung by.

A friend recently had some bits from the EU even that had been opened and interfered with, even untaped and left flapping if you will.

So after Jan anything is possible USA or EU.

If Classic do stock it we should try for a big push to spread the word.

We could just put a mention like don`t miss the new 600` of Jurassic Park in ebay ads etc maybe.

        Best Mark.

I find this very mysterious. Practically everyone investing in new releases today will be a serious collector unwilling to use a projector that will immediately cause damage and reduce the market value of films. I expect virtually no Forum member in this category has EVER caused a splice in a polyester print! Having said that, freak disasters are not impossible, and if that's what happened, the seller will be thrilled to have 'got away with it' and now be in a position to replace the print without being out of pocket.

Yes, mine is on order direct from David, though it has not arrived yet because I only ordered a few weeks ago. In terms of customs on other orders I've made from USA, it's not been an issue. In terms of spreading the word, I've been going door-to-door, but people weren't even sure what Super 8 is! Seriously though, forums like this are one really good way, as is simple word of mouth, once you own a copy though. I bought mine after hearing from another collector just how good it is. As I said, the more of us that buy, the stronger this market becomes and it encourages the release of further titles.

              True.

Yes Ade by nature mechanical intermittent damage has always been possible particularly in the wrong hands and some times at point of lab printing. Remember the Wallace and Gromit saga years ago?

Those of us who buy new 21st Century prints/releases have witnessed in recent times the high standard Super 8 can reach in both image and sound.
But wait till new year when the next batch of titles is due to be announced and I hope you are ready for a monumental surprise!

Mark T. I'm probably the last film user who came to use Film Guard on new prints but its excellent at protecting new films and applied liberally a bottle lasts a very long time. Probably 50% of my collection is vintage and also gradually wading thru them as well.

In the recent posting by Joachim Schmidt in which he interviews David Baker, he mentions that David live in Ocala, Florida.
I notice that the recent eBay seller of "Jurassic Park" lives in Ocala, Florida.
                Perhaps just a coincidence?

Well perhaps we could all spread the word via our emails, Phone, or other filmie contacts we have, get, or happen upon.

Maybe not shout it too loudly from too many rooftops regarding sensitivities re releases we may need to bear in mind as well.

Hoping to get a copy next year if lucky, it would be a lovely thing to run or own.

The 600`s are the way to go and myself I`d rather own something a bit different to the feature anyway.

Super 8 was made for digest`s. If only as we`ve said before LPP came out in 76/77.

Still amazing this film 600 is here in 2020 !!!

                  Best Mark.

Conventions and film fairs are the places to promote new super 8 releases. Hopefully those events will start again in 2021.

Hmm ... I wonder if it's actually the same one. Probably not, as the buyer would probably at least desire to get back what he paid, but with all the people that bid on the last copy, this one might go high ... Unless the seller was the main person moving up the bid ... It happens sometimes.

Must be the same since the picture shows the same artwork. My film arrived without box and without artwork so I assume it was home made.
