Well the good news is there are plenty of good working projectors online that can be purchased.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice! I had assumed the projector was dead and we found a eumig 610D on ebay for around £60 in full working order which is cheap compared to some of the others online from what I've found so we ordered it, it will apparently arrive on Tuesday. In the meantime my mam found a retired bored electrician who agreed to have a look at it and has got it working again! So come Tuesday I will have two fully functioning projectors

That's awesome Katie! The Eumig 610D is a fine machine. Glad to hear the 605D is once again working. Time for movie night! Let us know how you make out with the 610D.
