I have to tell you I am really looking forward to this movie, even though I am not usually running out to see new flicks...I saw a preview and it is all about kids who are making little super 8 movies. and they just had a segment on American Idol where he gave the four final contestants super 8 cameras and said to go film their hometown visits....What if it spearheaded a super 8 film revival? hey kids love retro stuff.......Let's face it we need some kids.....I saw those BFCC pics

This has come up on other threads here and I've also been making the point that it will probably be the best opportunity we ever have to attract new blood to the hobby. In fairly recent years there has been something of a vinyl revival with kids buying 7 inch records - a 'retro' item with iconic significance in terms of music - so why shouldn't some kids be similarly inspired to take an interest in film.
Anyone with a love of film has to be ready to capitalise on this. Hopefully one of the remaining dealers is getting a trailer on 35mm to release on Super 8. Collectors can post messages on IMDB and other film sites saying: "If you're intersted in Super 8, people are still using it to shoot and watch films. You can get more information on these sites......"
