So, the seller is ok and his prices are pretty good. Thank you Maurice for the reply.

Between the 2 models [ s938/ t610] which one is easier on service [changing belts for example], I would appreciate this piece of information...in Greece is very important because we don't have a John White [Smile]

My engineer does my servicing so I do not know about the belts. I have bought from a German eBay seller who services his projectors before selling, such as lubrication, new belts. He gives a 12-month guarantee. He is not cheap! You can send emails in English. Here is his site:-

I have a Bauer T510. A very nice and quiet running projector. It also lives in its black fitted carrying case. A worthwhile investment. Good hunting.

Happy update

1: Just won a Bauer Τ610 with Schneider Xenovaron 1:1,1 / f=11-30mm lens from German ebay full refurbished with new sound head, belt and lamp...

2: I have already received the issue no 32 of reel image.

....waiting to have the projector in one piece at home and check it using my old films.

Thank you all for the information I take from the forum and your help to choose the right model...

Keep going...step by step... [Smile]

Dimitris
Your new Bauer T610 sounds an excellent buy.
A tip. Always "lubricate" the various amplifier sliders before use by gently sliding them backwards and forwards a few times. They may cause crackle on the sound when left without use.

Good news indeed Dominique, the hunting was successfully ended.

Maurice thank you very much for the tip. [Wink]

I have read in the forum about the English version of T610 manual. There is somewhere out there... Is it uploaded in the forum? If yes, could you give the link?

If not, I would appreciated it if a member, who has it, could help me.

I have already downloaded the German version but I can't understand any word [except some English words..stop, start etc.. [Smile] ]

My Bauer T510 only came with a German manual. I have been unable to find an English copy, or one for a T610 which is a very similar projector.
You may be interested to know that Oldtimer Cameras have a repair manual available in English for the T610.

Alan Rik posted this month.
If you are reading this, Alan, are you still able to supply copies in English of the Bauer T610 operating manual?

Your Christmas video is cool. [Smile]

Keep on searching for the English Bauer T610 manual ... I have already found the French version, it is more "understandable" than the German one...

French Bauer T610 instruction manual

And here is the proof that the English version is not a phantom [Smile]

If you can send me a link to a German one, I might be able to help translate. My technical vocabulary regarding films might be a little limited in German or English, though.

Another option you could try is to type the German from the manual into google translate or similar website. You could probably even have it translate directly to Greek at that point.

Thank you very much Jon [Smile] , I appreciate your willing to help, that's what I like in this forum. I already try to translate the manual using the google translator + French version, but, it is time consuming.

I'll wait to receive the projector and then I'll translate the pages which are needed [not the obvious ones] for the right usage.

Bauer has been shipped back to the seller, sorry for the "spamming", I would like to keep this thread as my super8 diary.... [Cool]

Thinking to leave the hobby...no luck from the beggining, belts for a cannon that didn't match, the bauer with sound problem, 8 films like new, in fact acceptable....but I'll continue to watch the forum... [Smile]

Maurice, Alan spends days in Miami,he will search for the english manual when he'll be back home...

HEY !!! Don't get disappointed so early! Leave ebay and buy from the established sellers (Classic Home Cinema,Independent 8,Buckimgham, Perry's etc). From them, you get a sort of guarantee and their projectors are refurbished.Ebay is always a hit and miss gamble.
