What can anyone tell me about this print? I talked to the seller, and if it's not complete, I can return it. Anyone know who released it? Derann perhaps?
I sold a beautiful 16mm print of this title earlier this year, and have regretted it. This may make it a little easier to swallow.

Hi Jack....I would think super 8 optical would be an airline print but looking close at the picture those look like 16mm reels so I am confused. Those could be the large extended reels for super 8, I have seen them with the square hole.
Having seen his completed listings that both listed 16mm and super 8mm films, plus the seller ID (vetofilm), I guess he was not new to films, so he would have known what he was selling.

It is marked Elmo ST1200 HD M... No O So I'm very confused, but I guess no surprise there. I thought optical sound was like with 16mm- A soundtrack read by the exciter lamp. Super 8 doesn't work that way?
I'm frustrated... someone help me out and explain my snafu!!

The super 8 format includes optical sound or magnetic mono and stereo. Super 8 prints will have one mag stripe, two mag stripes OR a mono optical track. Many projectors are only magnetic, SOME are also optical.
BUT that looks like a square spindle hole so looks like a 16mm print.

No- it's a stock photo he's using- It's definitely Super 8
The seller says he also has the same title in magnetic sound. He is going to check on the stock for me. I can't believe I made this mistake. Luckily I am dealing with a great seller.
Anyone know where this print may have been made? Was Easter Parade printed by Derann?

Magnetic print will have more value than the optical ones. So if the seller is willing to replace with the magnetic prints, grab it!
Easter Parade was released on super 8mm by MGM for a 400' version. Like other titles for limited releases MGM also printed the full version. So it might be from MGM.

Jack, I used to have that feature...wow. it had great low fade color. And yes..your Elmo is Mag. only. Some did have optical, too. But there are, comparatively few optical prints out there and many have faded. But then, so have I. They need to make lpp people.

The seller has told me that the color is great, so I truly am expecting it to be the LPP stock several of you have mentioned. As soon as I get a 1200 foot take up reel, I will take a picture or two and share them with you.

I hope that you can put up some screenshots. I was curious about this print as well, but without screenshots, I was hesitant. I hope that you lucked out.

The magnetic prints would have been originally from Red Fox or Ken Films. I think Red Fox is the favourite. Derann did print these when they bought the negatives.

The print arrived. I'm taking a few pictures now to post for you guys. As soon as I figure out how I will. The color is as good as the 16mm print I foolishly sold last spring. Actually I'd call it stunning. They make a look a bit faded here because I'm taking snapshots during the day, though I've darkened the room as best I can.

WOW! You're not kidding! Now I'm kicking myself! (however, when I see him put up other auctions, when he says "good color", I kno0w he is to be trusted!
