Have you tried enquiring about this print on e bay Phillip?
Item number 141706606643

This belongs to a member on here and is at a price point which would suggest this will be in top condition albeit without the original trailer.

Hi Andrew, I did look at this and the seller has offered me it but it is a bit pricey for me, As you know I bought a mint print of 101 Dalmations for £250 which is a lot rarer than The Lion King. I'm sure someone will buy it eventually. I am still looking.

Yes, I understand Phillip. As I know you will pay good prices for the right prints, i just wanted to make sure you had seen this as none of the Derann Disney popular prints come up for sale too often as you know.

You did well with 101 Phillip after a very patient wait. [Wink]

Clinton, if you read one of my recent posts on here, you will see that Derann prints can sell for anything up to over £1000 for the right print in the right condition.

Hi Phillip,

I have a print that I'm looking at parting with but it
would be better with audio sync as the mag tracks are not flash.
It will be going cheap if l list it as l would rather try and find one with good audio.
But if you wait like you did with 101 I'm sure you will find that mint copy. [Smile]

Hello Clinton.
They privately usually sell for around the £175 mark, ebay is another matter.
I'm praying that this wonderful forum for lovers of film does not develop further into an ebay watch market place as time passes.. [Frown]

I've gotta say Lee, since the closure of Derann, I have never seen The Lion King in top shape sell for as little as £175 anywhere.
Certainly none of the dealers sell them at that price anymore nor anyone on e bay as a B.I.N.

Maybe if you have friends who have large collections to sell, you could be lucky I suppose, but that said I think most people would be wary selling a decent print at this price for fear the new owner would simply pass it on and make a killing on it.

If you know anyone who has a mint print of this title and is willing to sell it for £175 Lee, please let me know mate!

I haven't seen a Disney feature print go for less than $350 and that is for a 3 reeler. Every once in a blue moon someone who doesn't really know the post Derann prices will sell for less than that, I saw a Jungle Book in the original Derann cases sell for $150 buy it now a few months back, but they are rare. Since Derann shut down they seem to start at $350 then go upwards of $600 + depending on title and rarity.
Oh theres one on Paul Fosters list.. I think for 249 Sterling.

I would guess this amount or slightly less is typically what a dealer would have to offer for a mint print now. Then you are back to the price point Paul is selling at or around $350 as Alan says is typical in the U.S.

The internet being used now by nearly all, old and young, appears to have given the vast majority of people who have these items in cherished condition, greater awareness of what they can sell for in a 1 v 1 situation.

Phil at CHC has struggled recently by his own admission to find collections to buy off collectors.Even to the point where he is mailing to individuals who have purchased from him in the last few years to see if they no longer collect and if they would be interested in selling back to him.

This is something I have never seen him do before since I have been back in the hobby.

CHC offered an extensive Disney collection earlier this year, all £200 but the condition on some wasn't mint, very good but not mint and I believe this to be the best price found from a dealer in the post Derann era.Certainly in recent times anyhow.

Hey! Phillip,
Checkout Paul Fosters new list, you may be very pleased... (top of the list) and reasonably priced all things considered.
Best
Rick
