Is it possible to buy Standard 8mm splicing tape? I can see Super 8mm everywhere but not Standard 8mm.

Do you mean tape on a roll which is unperforated, or patches which are pre-cut?

Hi Vidar,
This is what I use with my CIR standard 8 splicer. It covers two frames almost exactly with care. http://www.pec.co.uk/pecvnew/film-editing/joining-repair-tape.html
Last time I bought a 50 pack because I do a lot of splicing in my transfer business.

I have 2 Super 8 splicers but no Standard eight splicer, so whatever tape I use will have to be manual.

For 8mm -- you can always invest in a Leo Catozzo guillotine splicer for 16mm and fold over the tape. Those are the best splicers on the market, always have been.

Gerald, does that work easily, given standard/regular 8 is not just split 16 mm but has the double of perforations ?
