I dropped the same question in 8mm forum but I think this is the correct place when members can contribute.

The above bigger reel does look like 14" (because the smaller one is definitely 12" as measured by the ruler).

My questions are:

1. What is the capacity of 14" reels in 16mm format?
2. What is the value of this Elmo 16mm metal reels?

thanks

The 14" reel is 490 meters or 1600' for capacity.

I have sold some of those nice ELMO reels for $25.00 each. I wish I would have kept a couple now. At $25.00 each, I had a LOT of inquiries, which is why I ended up selling all of them instead of keeping a few....that being said, some people will say that is a good price while other will say it is too high.

Hi Winbert, Wayne - These Elmo reels are very nice, I have a couple with the original packaging for 1200' at $22.95 (for a Super 8 gauge). $25 for a new 1600' capacity reel is a fair price since, I believe this item has held it's value; both for it's extremely light size and durability. I would take these over Goldberg (or Taylor) metal reels anytime because they are so gentle mounting on to the spindles for both the projector and viewer.
