So as some of you might know, I bought a house in November and we moved to the new place in December. Now, after two months of cleaning, painting and sorting out stuff, my films are finally back in shelves in the new office/library room!

 -

I decided to gather the films in the bottom shelves due to the weight (one of the other shelves in the unit is completely bent due to the weight of the 8mm features sitting on it in the old place), so now it's all in one place. I decided to sort it out by reel size and "function", with features and featurettes in one place and stand alone 400' in one place.

Below are some close-ups of the shelves:
 -
Top image: Features and featurettes, the stack on the right is "Logans Run" 4x600' + some odds and ends that I havent gotten boxes for yet.
Bottom image: More features and featurettes on 800'. The brown can is "The Lost World", red can is a spare 16mm reel, yellow cans are "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" complete on 16mm.
 -

 -
Top image: Various 200-footers + some features/featurettes.
Bottom image: 400-footers + my Marketing boxes (most of them empty, as I've respooled them unto 800' or 600' for easier projection.
 -

Already have a new table and couch set up in the library, where I can sit and enjoy splicing films and projecting the results! [Smile]

Now see, the stacked Walton and other 200' - No - you can stack 5 or 6 but don't place them in a row on top of each other - The 400' stacked reels, you need white-hinged boxes or cans, and label them clearly to see - Ah, what to do with these collectors...also the Walton and other 200' editions, turn them so the title faces out _ I for one would like to know what you have, but it does make for easy (handy) reference - Shorty

Thanks [Smile]

Shorty: I am planning on getting new boxes for all 200' reels, and then I'll print out new artwork for all of them. Currently they are stacked like this as I needed to get them out of the storage boxes so I could sort out how much I have [Smile]

Hinged boxes? Can't afford them. Cardboard will have to do for now.

Here's a photo of the couch and work table. I am currently working on respooling/editing my 3x400 "The Longest Yard" unto 2x600.

Nice collection Christian and well organized too! My wife and I have been working off and on with our upstairs theatre room for the past two years now and we're almost finally done! I'm just waiting to finish up the theatre chairs I found and when finished I will post some photos.

Chris,

I made a mistake, there is only one with 600' size but around 10 cases for 800' size (2 * 800' = 1600').

Obviously you can still use a 800' case for 600' reels if you want.

Anyway those cases are from the films lot I bought from Trevor in NZ. So they will be sent from NZ should you decide to buy.

cheers,

Hey Christian - "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" on 16mm. I'm very jealous!
I have an original Holy Grail poster signed by Michael Palin and he wrote "Ni!" on it!

Lakshmi, if that is what you want, we actually already have the said dedicated thread. Here it is:

How do you stack your films

You can re-post your photos there to continue the thread.

I will bump again that thread.

Chris, you are also welcomed to re-post on that thread.

ps: to re-post you DO NOT NEED to re-upload. What you need to do is to click the edit button in this post then just copy and paste to the dedicated thread. Good luck!
