Because I was out of the Super 8 collecting game for so long, there's a gaping hole in my knowledge of released Derann feature films on Super 8 from 1983 to 2011. I've done extensive research online, but can only find reference to certain titles, and gleaned what I can from this great forum.

Does anyone have an electronic list they have compiled, or is there a resource online that I might be missing? (I've seen the BFCC individual title reviews page, but that seems to be the most comprehensive record I've found so far.)

The Derann catalogues themselves offer you the most overall comprehensive guide so far as features are concerned.
There are those that can still be seen on Steve Osbornes site on top and further prints that originated from Germany. Overall though Martin, you wont be far off the mark by spending a good few hours scrolling the pages of the Derann catalogues over the years.

The double disc Pinewood trip dvd dedicated the entire second disc to electronic data surrounding the Derann catalogues etc.

Thanks, Andrew. Yes, it would be great to see Derann catalogues, but I'm sure they're as rare as the films themselves. What is the title of the 2-disc Pinewood trip? I couldn't see that on the BFCC website.

Martin it was the one sold at the last Blackpool convention around the time of release.

I will try and find the discussion on here surrounding it and post a link for it if I can.
I was in work last night so couldn't remember the full title of it but I have it in front of me now and its full title is..

Derann At Pinewood.
2 disc Remastered Special Edition.

Includes an after dinner speech by Peter Rogers of Carry On fame.

hi Martin,

the 2 disc remastered special edition is called Derann at Pinewood - I bought mine at the Blackpool Convention last November - David Guest was selling them. I also believe that Barry Attwood from Independent 8 has copies for sale. Worth getting hold of for the Derann and other catalogues on Disc 2 and the amusing after dinner speech from Peter Rogers on Disc 1 - of course there are other gems on disc one including Derann on TV.

Archive.org does have a copy of a set of the Derann webb site including the films they had available at the time. Not all the films they ever released but it is a start.

I have a lot of Derann Catalogues in my printed matter
archive going back as far as the late 1960s.
Also hundreds of original newsletters and sales lists too.

I am natural hoarder and have others from Walton,Powell Films,
P.M.Films , Columbia , Watso Films , Mountain , Capitol , Republic , Rank Movie Paks , Castle Films , Walt Disney ,
Perry's Movies , Regent Films and many more.

I started collecting around 1966/67. So got into a habit of
picking them up or ordering them via mail order.
I would peruse them and dream over the titles available.

Brian, web.archive.org was identified by Sky Broadband as a potential hacking site, so blocked it. I can override it, but is it safe to the best of your knowledge?

When I purchased my own set of these discs I had issues with my first copy accessing the the disc with the catalogues on it.
I understood this was unlikely to open using a standard DVD player as the files obviously were not in DVD format but I couldn't even open it on my pc for some bizarre unknown reason.
Anyhow I was supplied with two extra discs for free as a result which both opened perfectly.

If you would like one of these Martin, you're welcome to it but it won't come in a case and it won't have the DVD itself with it as I only have my own one copy of this disc but if you would just want the catalogue disc, then one can be yours Martin.

Martin. I have had no trouble with archive.org, but as they seem to archive as much of the web as possible I assume they have some suspect site info archived as well as good. That might be why you get the warning.

Just this second tried one of the discs for you Martin and it worked perfectly, 1978 right up to the subliminal 1992 catalogue.
(I think I may have an actual paper edition from later than this also, The Disney contract had only just begun in 1992 so the later one I have features much much more).

Plus plenty of others also on this disc, from Marketing Films etc etc.

Read through this lot and you'll not be far off the mark and I guarantee, hooked forever the more you find and purchase the later they appear! [Wink]

Though the catalogues in themselves are superb, back these up with a full set of their magazines FFTC, and everything more or less is covered, right up until "End Of Days" etc.
This includes equipment, tech tips, readers writes and reviews at the time of release plus plenty of other articles and advertisements from the era [Smile]

Truly fascinating reading of the history of this once great company and everything anyone left in this hobby actively, needs ever to know!

Sorry guys I cant do that at the moment as I don't have a scanner or even a printer just now.
My last one went faulty and I have not yet bought a new one.

However when I do get one I will get back to you. Some of these old catalogues are very large with loads of pages so it will take some time. [Smile]

If you are looking for DERANN Mains Catalogs I have already put them here for free download.

They were scan to higher DPI level available for best picture quality.

If you are interested let me know to put them here again.

Phil, I believe not all those covered on the disc made it to print here.
If Martin is happy enough with just the ones you placed here, then that would however save me the job of posting this disc out to Martin.

The Watsofilms 16mm catalogue measures 10" x 7.5", and comprises 253 pages.
Producing a scan would be very much a labour of love.

Absolutely Maurice,

It tooks me lot of time to scan DERANN Catalogues due to the definition level used with the Scanner.

I had to split them in different PDF files first and to assemble them with a PDF assembler tool......

Maurice you are right there. My Watso Films catalogues are huge!
I have more than one from different years the thought of doing scans is a mammoth task ahead ... GULP !!!

The synopsis inside them of some rare and forgotten titles is
a mine of information.

There's quite a lot from far earlier also Phil.

It would be great if the FFTC magazines could also be digitilzed nowadays. I have many of them but am missing just a few from a full set.
