The internet and the digital age are a mixed blessing, to be sure. As with everything in this world, it's a mixed blessing. I embrace it. We gained a lot but I mourn the loss of a different way of life. Concessions are a part of progress. A shout out to the now defunct Blackhawk Films and all the people in the world who love their excellent film prints. Thank God we can still find them.

Yes the internet is a blessing for us film collectors (or indeed any collector) when sourcing films worldwide!
For example I have a large collection of 9.5mm films mostly bought from England [Smile]

and without e-bay my collection would just be a few instead of 100+ , same applies to a smaller extent my 16mm film collecion [Smile]

Is Blackhawk now officially defunct? As of a few years ago the name and logo were still showing up on Image DVD boxes of films restored by David Shepard.

Blackhawk ceased production in 1985, with Supplement II catalog, most VHS and 16, then it was Blackhawk Video - But you can still get special order prints I'm sure in 16mm, costly but gorgeous - I miss the halcyon days, being part of it all back in the 60's, and without EBAY and "live" shows, also members of the forum, where would we be then? - Shorty

What I'm asking is whether or not David Shepard is still using the Blackhawk name for DVD releases. THE GENERAL/STEAMBOAT BILL JR. DVD from Image is from 2003 and says "from the Blackhawk Films Collection."
