It took more than 3 years but now I found „Wings“ on eBay USA in Reg8 and I can’t wait to get and watch it…! A dream comes true!

Congratulations! I once had standard 8mm copy of the feature, but I could find no sprocket markings as to who released it on 8mm.

I thought of you, this afternoon, as I watched a super 8 spool with a compilation of silent films trailers and Wings was among them.

Yes, I saw it sell a couple of days ago. I've never seen the film. I try to avoid Standard 8mm features if I can, especially when they come mounted on huge reels.

Dominique, how does Your „Wings“ cutdown start and how does it end? Is the heartbreaking goodbye of the two friends included?
Brian, I read that the quality of some of the Reg8 prints are better than some Super 8 prints; I will write about it as soon as the print takes it wings to Germany

I was refering to the trailer. I also have a digest. Next time I screen it, I will tell you exactly how it starts and end.

I actually wrote that recently about the quality of Standard 8mm, but it's been mentioned many times over the years by collectors. It has much more to do with the pre-print, and the duplicating process that was used many years ago than the gauge itself.

I don't like regular 8mm mounted on huge reels for the simple reason that I don't have a projector to project them with. Even for 600 foot reels, I have exactly one Eumig Dual 8 projector that can handle that size. As I've mentioned, I've cut them down, but it takes a while and I'm lazy. Plus, I've used up all my spare reels, which were Super 8 anyway so you need an adapter to mount them on 8mm machines. And my Super 8 projectors have better lenses and better light output.

That being said, I have many short Standard 8mm films. Many I bought because they were rare titles in any gauge.
