Here is finally my build up. Ulanzi lamp is great, i use phone wall charger to charge it all time, constant light and no need to worry about battery to die.

Lens holder in my 2000H is with aluminium U profile cutted in parallelogram shape, about 8mm height, it´s only screwed at bottom to machine. Plastic piece is some boat paddle clip.

OBS is great with Axis and color curves filters, you can correct colors before recording.

Pretty happy with results, but still learning how to use best settings in OBS.

Sharpness is wierd, i can get good sharp image when film is stopped but when running normal speed it´s get little blurry and shaky, reverse mode looks more better, but reverse play started to jam after many test, it´s unused machine for long time..

I tried to adjust tension on take up roll but that´s hard and i think it got worse, now take up rotation stops sometimes..

I forgot to add, gate removal was very easy, i didn´t have to take claw out to get those little screws, only those two screws that hold it to switch, just bend little hook and gently twist and turn and it will get out under mask covers..

Looks nice and clean. Have you tried different film? Also try looking into the front with the unit running with a magnifier to see if shaking is still there. If it is it may be the claw adjustment. There are two adjustments. One is by loosening the cam screws an moving the cam tiny amount left or right. The clay in engaged position should be very close to chassis but not scraping it. The other adjustment is on the claw mechanism itself. There is an adjustment screw that moves the claw forward and backwards. If not adjusted the claw can periodically miss the perforations. These adjustments are very touchy specially the latter one. I busted one of the units trying to do this adjustment and snapped the claw tip... so this is your last resort.

Thanks Stan.. i digitalized 4 reels last friday, all good for my eyes and then next day i removed gate mask, lubricated some gears and after that very bumpy picture. Today i installed gate mask back to machine and picture is good again.. How that mask effects so much, it dosent even touch film..? Before re installing gate mask i looked claw, it goes about 1,5-2mm over sprocket holes when looking from lens side, i think it´s good..?

This 8mm is new to me, maybe i am trying to get better results that what you can get from 8mm this style.
Today i tested slow motion and "lamp" on, so it slowed even more, speed it up 250% in Davinci and it looks good, much less bumpy and focus is good...

Can someone explain to me how to remove the original lens from a Sankyo Dualux 1000? I am attempting to swap out this lens for a magnifying lens, but I don't see any set screws or anything holding it in place. Thanks.

****Note**** I found the set screw on the focus knob and was able to remove the lens easily.

Hi Janne, I assume you are running now with the mask installed. I don't see why the mask would impact the transport but will check one of my units here and see if I can figure out anything. In the meantime can you post a few test clips.
Fred, I just pull on the focus knob an the lens comes out.

Getting closer to something usable with my Z30 setup.

Thank you Stan for sending me a 3d printed lens mount. This new test is with his mount and the raspberry Pi lens mentioned in this thread.

Feels very crisp. I was able to go full 250mm with a +2 macro filter. I feel like the vignetting issue from before is less apparent.

BEFORE sample with 16mm projector lens, 200ish-mm focal length and +1 macro filter:

AFTER with Pi lens, 250mm focal length and +2 macro:

It does look better. Good work. Make sure the RPI lens is wide open.

4k test. I think speed is dialed in. But definitely getting a rolling shutter effect when I go frame by frame. Gonna try some different frame rates and see if anything helps.

                    • I've found that shooting at 24fps is giving me the least amount of ghost frames. Basically seeing transitional frames every x amount of images, catching a frame in between the changeover. 24fps is doing one like every 6 frames or so. It's pretty consistent too, might even be able to remove them with avisynth in post.

Gonna do some more testing but looking like 24fps, 1/60 shutter, f6.3, 800iso giving me the best results. Whether 4k is worth the bother over 1080p not sure. At least gives me some extra room to crop down the frame.

Yes, mask is on, but something is wrong with normal speed, here are two samples. Google Drive is slow, download file for better quality.

This sample is recorded OBS 25 frames, 1440x1080, camera 1/25 shutter, 6.8 aperture. Slowmotion speed and speeded in Davinci 250 percent. Very clear and good focus, that flickering is still there, i think this is ok.. That´s me in the middle, year 1981.

And then normal speed and slowed 86 percent, totally blurry and jumpy, it´s with same manual focus like slowmotion sample.

                        • I got it working better, after all it was dirt in backside of claw, i did not see it frontside. Removed gate again and works fine now..
