A B&H 16mm (Possibly 652) and what looked like a DeBrie in Mark Kermodes film programme on Superheros tonight on BBC4, unfortunately they were out of focus in the background.

Okay! -not a projector, but in this last scene from Apollo 13, we have a Super-8 camera on the job!
We are aboard the aircraft carrier after what have to be the luckiest Astronauts in the history of spaceflight have successfully splashed down, basically by perseverance, engineering, duct tape and a couple of D cells one had in his pocket!
This is one of my favorite movies: the heroes are mostly Engineers, and the chief story conflict is electrical! (It's a story pretty much written for me! -Great book too...)
That crewman over on the right is filming with Super-8. He is also one-handing it. (Shame on him!) I'm betting a big reason he has that camera is it's a Ron Howard film and he started out making films with Super-8 himself. Still the same: I'd want him to say "CUT!, CUT!..You! -Flight deck crewman! -brace the camera with your other hand or your footage will be shaky! That's NOT a hair dryer you are holding!".
As much as I appreciate the Super-8 reference, what is really cool about this picture has nothing to do with 8mm film. It actually has TWO Jim Lovells. The fellow needing a shave is obviously Tom Hanks playing Jim Lovell. The fellow he's speaking to is the real Jim Lovell playing a generic senior Navy officer. His displayed rank is what Jim Lovell had when he retired from the Navy. (Ron Howard offered him a "promotion" and he declined it!)Last edited by Steve Klare; April 06, 2020, 08:47 AM.

Inspector Barnaby, again (!) but I found out that the original title of this British serie is "Midsomer Murders" ("Inspecteur Barnaby" is the title in French). So, in the episode 6 from season 19, there is a projection of a silent film, accompanied by musicians.
They did replace the original intertitle for one in French, which is a detail I appreciate. The serie is broadcasted on Sunday night on national channel France 3.

Dominique De Bast Spotting a projector ... even a 16mm can be challenging especially when the image may only be on the screen for a split second. However... it's not too difficult to spot a 35mm projector and the one you captured is a beauty!
I've been binge watching an old J.J. Abrams series...ALIAS. Don't know how I missed this series between 2001-2005. In season 4 episode 18 I spotted a 16mm projector set up in a dark smokey nightclub during a fight scene.

It's fun to check the index below to see if your projector sighting has previously been listed. Many movies have been added since this index was published...but it's pretty extensive anyway. Thank you Bill!
This is an index of projector sightings from the old forum archive.
