In the new film THE COMEBACK TRAIL we see a old drive in with a Century 35mm projector which get's fired up and screens some film, also I just watched the first 2 series of THE CROWN where we see a number of 16mm projectors in use being used ( being that the image we see on the screen is actually from a video projector and in some shots we can see the 16mm projector with the video projector sitting underneath it!)

TV show Mannix from 1969. A 16mm film give private detective Mannix the clue he needs to solve the crime. Yes I know that the projector appears to be a Super 8, but earlier in the show he finds the film in a tin and takes it out and it is clearly a 16mm film.

I watched a pretty good horror movie a couple days ago called RESOLUTION from 2012...There was a scene with the characters watching some 8mm on a Kodak Brownie projector...don't have a screen shot.

From the 1973 French film "La bonne année" (Happy New Year). This is a Claude Lelouch gangster film. It starts in black and white (with footage from Un homme et une femme), continues in colours, then goes back to black and white at the end. The projector is seen at the begining when there is a projection in a prison.

I always cry at the end of RUDY (1993). It's such a heart-warming story. Anyway while watching it this week I noticed the coach using a moviola to view football film footage.

Then again, there was that certain...projection booth scene in Shawshank Redemption:

-it has to be easily the unhappiest of any of these pictures!

It's a great movie: a tribute to the value of freedom and by the same token how utterly crappy prison is! I always wonder when kids get to almost puberty and they show them those certain films, maybe it might help their future to see this one too!

(-still, how often do you ever see a full reel of 35mm being used as a weapon of self defense?)

In the episode "Etude In Black" (1972), Columbo is seen for a very short moment beside a projector.

Columbo, Season 7 Episode 3, Make Me A Perfect Murder. Columbo needed a projectionist to show him how to make changeovers in order to solve the crime.

The last frame of the episode had a cue mark printed in the upper right corner.

I have no idea what brand of 16mm projector is pictured, there are no shots from the operator side.
