How can an sp stock film sell for the same price as a Derann LPP one of the same title? Or a Marketing 3 x 400 for the same price as a Derann Disney low fade feature? I am completely baffled by these erroneous self valuations.
Similarly, how a Bauer T610 can ever produce a light output of what was it again?....4 or 5k lumens.. (sorry I don't remember the exact figures quoted, I was too busy P*ssing my sides),
is truly and spectacularly beyond me!!

That's more like it Thomas. Your purchase was at a bargain price I would say if it was in excellent condition, however paying £150 I for what nowadays has to be a fading "Marketing" cut down, would be down right ludicrous!

I used to have the Marketing Films full feature of "War of the Worlds" but it was turning red. I replaced it with the 3X400ft digest which still has excellent colour and is very well edited. The 3X400ft digests sold here in the UK were printed on much better stock than the full feature versions and whilst I agree that the asking price is very high, if the print is excellent and it's in the original boxes I can see a collector being tempted, as this title is getting rarer due to us all hanging on to our own prints.

Andrew and Thomas, your comments are inappropriate considering this is a fellow collectors advert for HIS own film sales and your comments are not helpful to the seller and if you are not actually in the market to purchase his films you should not have any reason to post in his thread... Would you comment on anothers potential purchase in a store if they were engaged with the sales person? I think not and here is no exception!
The practice of butting in on a fellow collectors private sales on this site was dealt with sometime ago and I believe the conclusion was that if you are not intending to purchase you should refrain from posting... it's just not good manners!
I appreciate your comments on this and valid points which you have raised.
This is one of the reasons why I have not used this forum for selling items for sometime (Goldfinger being one) as I cannot be bothered with the nonsense that goes on.
It’s just made me realize that nothing has changed !

War of the worlds is a good price a 400ft version sold on ebay for over £70 recently so a good 3 x 400 is a bargain at 150 and roberts films are allways top notch a trusted seller .

Guys, this is ridiculous. If someone on the forum lists a movie for sale and someone feels that price is fair enough to pay for it, then clearly the price is acceptable even if only to one person. Just because someone sells a movie for $10 yet the next guy sells the same or lower quality copy for $100 doesn't make him out to be a crook. The buyer wouldn't pay the price if he didn't feel it was fair.
The only way the buyer is at fault here is if he advertised a copy as complete or no splices or mint condition or something and the print delivered (or not delivered at all) was not representative of the condition advertised.

This story reminds me of a deal that fell through for me off this forum, I had already put my name to feature and when a "friend" of his found out he was selling his favourite movie he persuaded him to keep it, so although I was happy to pay an agreed sum plus shipping, he apologised with an email. We are all grown ups on here gents, capable of making up your own minds as adults, read between the lines, but the freedom of speech should be retained here an opinion that's all it is.

Correct Paul, this is a forum and therefore ALL opinions count. After all we live in a democracy where freedom of speech is acceptable and positively encouraged in a fair society.
Very often people on here point out things they do not agree with, like anyone else, some I agree with, some I do not. When that becomes an untruth either way,it causes problems. That it why I speak nothing but fact about what I observe and post. If that offends anyone because their "facts" are ambiguous to say the least, that is not my problem.

Not when you are bad mouthing another member of this forum in every posting you make to deliberately cause problems for fellow members, along with not stating true facts.
Yes everyone has a freedom of speech but not at the expenses of someone else who is trying to make an honest living. Who has been a member for a number of years on this forum. Who has been involved in the BFCC for a number of years and other projects.

It's just as well Paul Foster doesn't take exception to the recent posts then isn't it Robert.
I take my hat off to you Sir for all of your efforts towards any B.F.C.C. convention both past and present and wish you well with your business.
As said, this is a forum and therefore as such, opinions are expressed on a regular basis whether we all choose to agree with them or not. My time on here is certainly not wasted on "slagging off" as many people as possible and I would like think, from time to time, I have been as much help to others as they have been to me.

We are all United on our love of the hobby Dominique. Divisions only come about when people disagree on opinions. If you are asking for that to be the case, then what you asking for Dominique is eutopia, which of course does not exist and what a boring world we would all live in if such a thing ever did.
