What 8mm films did I watch last night?

Derann released "A Grand Day Out", but IIRC the negative got damaged in the lab so not many copies were produced. I've not heard of any of the others being on Super 8.

Who released A GRAND DAY OUT on Super-8? Were any of the other W&G shorts also available?

Exactly 30 years ago „Speed“ starring Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock and amazing Dennis Hopper came to the german Cinemas; so it was a special pleasure to screen this Blockbuster.

After watching the blu-ray of "I'm Not Scared" I needed to relax a bit, so what better way than to finish the night with a Super 8 reel of films.
1...Gone Nutty
2...For The Birds
3....Madagascar Penguins
4... A Grand Day Out Wallace and Gromit.
Excellent prints and sound just the thing to chill out over
PS A couple of screen shots from an earlier screening, since then the lamp is getting the full 24 Volts not the 22 as before, making things even brighter

Cinema in miniature
My own documentary about our hobby
11 minutes master.
I look on this now and wonder where....
30+ odd years ago film at home was a different place. We endured imperfections but still had a wonderful time no matter what.
I had a new print of Gone with el wind from Derann with a green lab line. I projected that over 30 times in one year to womens groups etc they loved it.

Elmo ST-1200HD, Behringer Mixer, Kodak Pageant 250STonight a dual-format show:
On Super-8: -a compilation-reel of Singin' in the Rain digests (-just the songs) to remind me what a great show this is!
On 16mm: Regen -a German language film about life in Munich during an afternoon rainstorm to remind me how language lessons on their own don't really make people fluent!

Last night after finishing with 35mm, plus having a Intermission, I threaded up the GS1200 and ran a fairly full reel of Fantasia extracts, all joined together on a 1200 foot reel. Those "Fantasia" extracts I never tire of watching on Super8. The color prints stand out plus of course the music, just a great way to finish of a evening of film.
Taken last night all ready for part two, after putting the Ernie to bed.
Near the end I was becoming a bit like this....must be old age

I watched a couple of 200 footers last night. 'Mickey's Trailer' and 'Bambi Falls in Love' from EBay. Both Buck Labs prints with nice colour. Had to clean 'Mickey's Trailer' with Filmguard to fill in some crazing on the emulsion. It looked like a new print afterwards. 'Bambi Falls in Love' was an LPP print with some dirt at the start. Again, a wee clean with Filmguard removed the dirt and it looked great. I usually clean most prints I get but project them first to see what state they're in. It's nice to get prints without scratches but sometimes you just can't believe that someone would allow their gate and film path to get so filthy that the print gets badly scratched. We're all different.

Last week it was the turn of another Scope reel, just curious has any film conventions screened the likes of "The Neverending Story"? Derann released so many films onto Super 8, perhaps more of it could could be shown at some future date especially in Scope?.
Took a couple of screen shots of it last week, print quality is still looking good
PS....Came across the LP of the soundtrack plus the 45 in my favorite record and everything else store in very good condition.
the 45...
right now back to the movies....

The Return of the Jedi 7 x 400ft Scope Stereo.
Reel 6 alone would be a good souvenir of this title.
Lovely evening.

After years of searching I found the full feature of „Dracula-Prince of Darkness“ on eBay and screened it for the second time. A glorious CinemaScope print with an outstanding atmosphere.1 Photo

[QUOTE=Douglas Meltzer;n101632]Brian,
The Heat's On is from Columbia 8mm. Most of Columbia's releases were printed by Triangle Labs in the US. Mountain distributed much of Columbia's product in the UK, often with different box art.
Thanks, I had a feeling it wasn't a Mountain version edited and printed in the UK like some of theirs.

Ironically, Melvin, I sold a 200ftthat I had lying around, but it was faded. Now, looking for a good colour print of that 200ft.
