I remember watching the full Super8 feature of "Hell's Angles" at one of our long ago Sunday night meetings. I think it was on Elmo 1200ft reels, good movie.
A couple of nights ago it was the turn of another Elmo 800ft reel of cartoon shorts ""Professor Tom", "Lady and the Tramp", "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", "The Rescuers" both 200 footers joined together. color wise they are all still pretty good, considering I bought them new back in the 1970s there general condition has lasted well. What I did notice was with "Professor Tom" being a bit jumpy in the GS1200, nothing new with that, as I remember having to give the odd new Walton Tom and Jerry prints a light lube, even when they were brand new when using the ST1200 back then.
Its certainly a bit of a nostalgia trip watching those Disney shots, they were certainly very popular in there day.
Decided to lube it and run the 800ft reel again, this time round, perfect.
The Rescuers...
Melvin based on your comment I just sent a message that was incorrect. Please ignore that with apologies. The message was private regarding a silent movie I own.

SILENT SHORTS VOLUME 6 ON 2 X 1200 MOSTLY BLACKHAWKS
A few years ago I bought a case of Goldberg 1200 foot reels for super 8. They were full of the silents. The sale was going to be reels only - but the seller decided he didn't have enough time to pull the prints. So I got everything for a re-negotiated slightly higher price. It was quite the score - because all 6 volumes are 2 hours each. So 12 hours of silent super 8 !!!!! If I did this right - that would be 33 reels @ 400 foot!
All of these screenings super 8 sound & full length 2 hour programs.
I was back in the Man Cave tonight after a week or two away. I felt like watching something that wasn't too taxing on the brain, so I watched the following....
Royal Wedding 1x 50' Trailer
Diamond Horse-shoe 1x 50' Trailer
My Blue Heaven - 1x 50' Trailer
North By Northwest - 1x 400' - The Hitchcock classic. Basically wanted to watch it to see Cary Grant. This afternoon I binge watched the ITV series "Archie" on ITVX ( a UK catch up service for independent television) which was a biography of his life according to Dyan Cannon. (Archibald Leech = Cary Grant). Highly recommended if you can get to see it.
That's Entertainment - 8x 400' - The classic MGM compilation film. Reel quality varied from "ok" to "excellent." A bit of a mish mash for me as I built it up from various sources. A real (reel) compilation film in all senses of the word!
Checked my 1x400ft os Smokie and the Bandit, fading, but still only noticable in dark shots then ran "Un Chien Andalou" silent on LPP. I'm not sure where I got that from.
It must have been the print. Mutiny on the Bounty (400ft) sounded good and loud, though strangely at the end there were two more title sequences after the end credi with a voince saying ""Mutiny on the Bounty part one" and "Part Three" between them!!! I Bought the print S/H at Balckpool a few years ago, a bit pale but all colours present.
Hope your projector is fine and hope your print is still ok, although I used a blue filter and it does help a little bit. I feel once a print has gone totally red then its the end of the line, being to far gone in my book even for a filter, so hope your print is still in the ball park
I'll have to check my 400ft of it tonight. After I have finished the 400ft of The Turning Point I gave up on part way through last night. For some reason the sound was getting lower and lower in volume. I suspect the main track head of the Eumig 926 is either dirty or wearing out.
Yesterday giving my old ST1200 with "Mutiny on the Bounty". The film being 3/400 ft reels placed one one of my home made reels. Although the print has faded a bit, the blue filter placed in front of the Elmo 1.1 lens does take the edge of it. Screen shots are from yesterday.
In the past someone has added some extra scenes to the 3/400 footer. I think it might have come from the single 1/400ft version. Those short extra scenes are really badly faded and will remove them, so beware there are some very badly faded prints out there I would suggest to avoid.
i had half an hour spare last night so watched the Mountain Films 400ft of Top Hat, just four dance numbers and something I forgot at Christmas the WDHM 200ft version of The Small One, Fuji good colours but starting to go purple in the shadows.
Watching some Scope trailers today which included this one this past you-tube of it does not do it justice, as to the picture quality which is even better than shown. Over the weekend I must screen my flat 3/400 footer its on one reel and see how the print has held up. Without doubt the full length Scope feature would be even better, anyone got one?
PS Although I was blown away by the color photography when I first watched it at the cinema many moons ago, I think it would have to be later than its 1962 release, anyway its a film that has always stuck in my mind
