            • Robert Zemeckis Directs An Episode Of "The Late Show" Starring Tom Hanks

Stephen Colbert has always wondered what it would be like to work with legendary director Robert Zemeckis on an episode of "The Late Show." Special thanks to Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks! Their new film, "Here," is in theaters now.
Instead of the usual interview to promote a new film, Colbert put Zemeckis and Hanks to work making a spoof of several older movies.

              • A man bought a map to hang on his cork-board, to put pins in all the places he'd visited.

A few months later his wife noticed he hadn't hung it up and asked him about it.

He said "I can't yet: I haven't visited the corners.".

                        • I did notice one morning I couldn't see the top of Blackpool tower from the hotel window, so I'm betting on Blackpool there!

                          • True Story:

Judy Garland was working in New York. Her young children were at home in Los Angeles with the Nanny. The Wizard of Oz was going to be on Network TV that night, so she asked the Nanny to tune in.

The little kids recognized their Mom, but didn't understand it was just a movie!

It really scared 'em: they thought Mommy was in New York because she was carried there by flying monkeys!

When you look at the clip it is easy to see how the kids made the mistake!

When I was in college back in the 70's I took a class on dramatic literature and had to skip a class one day. The next day I showed up for class and the instructor proceeded to thank the class for the welcome they had given to yesterday's guest speaker, Margaret Hamilton. Apparently The Wicked Witch of the West was a charming raconteur.
