Walton A.509 says:

"A deadly rattlesnake is about to attack a sleeping boy. But his pet bird sees it and strikes the first blow. Like dualists, looking for a weak spot, they strike at each other again and again. Tension runs high!"

Does anybody know the origin of this film?

I believe this comes from THE ADVENTURES OF CHICO, A 1938 Monogram semi-documentary much like the Disney boy-and-animal(s)adventures of later years.

How very clever of you. I have been searching on Google for ages to try to find an answer. The Walton film gives no indication.
