Munster, Go Home! Distributed by William Powell Films. 20 minutes, Black & White.

The Munsters discover that Herman is now the new Lord of Munster Hall in England. When they arrive they receive a cool welcome from Lady Effigy and Freddie Munster. Freddie is upset at not being named Lord Munster.

This is a good cut-down from the 1966 Universal 96 minute cinema feature which was made entirely in the U.S. It stars most of the original television cast, and also Terry-Thomas and Hermione Gingold.

My Powell print is not very good, the picture being too dark, perhaps because the original was in Technicolor. The sound is good and clear, but does need slightly more volume than usual.

If you are offered a Super 8 print I would recommend you view it before making your final decision to purchase.

I'm not sure, but wasn't this also marketed as a whole feature on super 8? I think I've heard of the feature, at least a couple of times, but it could all be a super 8 "urban legend" [Smile]

I have a stunning colour print of this on 16mm I seen a print like my sell over in the states for over $2000 dollors

I'm not sure, but I think that this super 8 feature was supposed to be black and white as well, but I'm hoping that someone can give more accurate info on my question.

Nice to hear about that beautiful color print though. No doubt on low fade film stock. [Smile]

I remember hiring a 5 x 400ft b&w version from Powell Films in the early 70's.I have a feeling.but might be wrong that it was on standard (regular) 8mm

Yes, I have heard of this in full-length being available in Standard 8mm.

Powell Films had a deal with Universal and released "Munster Go Home", "Evil of Frankenstein" and "Phantom of the Opera" (Herbert Lom) all full length in Standard 8 Black and white sound versions. "Munster Go Home" and "Phantom of the Opera" were released on Super 8 as 1X400ft reel versions only to the best of my knowledge. I have never seen Powell full versions on Super 8 but maybe there could be some out there, who knows. I have the 400ft "Munster" and "Phantom" prints and they are very good. I would love a good colour print of "Phantom" but "Munster" looks really good in black and white and plays like one of the classic TV episodes so I wouldn't want it in colour.

There are F/L Super 8 prints of "Munster go Home", as I've had a couple in the past, but I've a feeling it's a pretty rare one now, as I've not come across it for a long time.

When it has a "SLIGHT WARP" what does that mean in the near future?
I know this isn't always the case but I owned a Chimps 16mm that when I got it had no smell but lots of places it was warped and within a year the dreaded VS took hold and I had to dump it .... I'm not new to film but I am always learning about it!
Educate me on this thought anyone?

ib tech are very prone to cupping and warp,some survive better than others i have many tech prints but none have gone vs yet.
