(still not) cheap at half the price; I'm sure the convoluted film path will be super kind to film.
John

the link is not working particularly well but the item is 110489573699

John,

Here's a link to the seller.

I vaguely remember a thread about this projector. I'll have to find it.

Mountain climbing in a chariot??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ BEN-HUR-CHARLTON-HESTON-SUPER-8mm-MOVIE_W0QQitemZ270553562927QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_DVD_Film_TV_OtherFormats_GL?hash=item3efe3fbf2f

According to the description of the movie
quote:
"Great documentary on climbing everest, not sure which team as it is a long time since I watched this movie. This is on a 400ft reel, Super 8mm Colour Sound. In plastic MGM box".
Wasn't the team those two famous "charioteers", sorry, "mountaineers" Heston and Boyd?

Is 'BEN-HUR a sister peak to'BEN NEVIS'?

Also, why have the "Starting Price" the same as the "Buy It Now"? Seems a bit pointless!

A case of 'oxygen starvation' due to reaching excessive heights on "BEN-HUR". [Big Grin]

Here's another unbelievably RARE Super 8 BW silent cut-down from the Batman serial... still sealed? Box looks pretty beat up, amazing how puny that cellophane is at protecting the box...
Yours for the low, low, low, low price of $50.

It finally sold http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260480991763&ssPageName=STRK:ME WAX:IT
But only after 6 insertions, and £250 BELOW it's original listing! Sadly for the buyer still about £100 OVER its true value, bearing in mind that it is sold in the UK and is a 110 volt machine with NO transformer

To change pace here, if you want to make the jump to 35mm (and get divorced in the process), this package is the thing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/complete-35mm-110-volt-ac-projection-booth-wow-/250628970269?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5aa6971d

The sick part is, it's a heck of a deal (if you like Christie), and the platter system in your living room should impress even the most jaded types....

The $250,000.00 guy is at it again, and this time it looks like it's only a 50' reel:

http://cgi.ebay.com/VERY-RARE-MY-SON-VAMPIRE-Featuring-Bela-lugosi-/110531861327?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bc365b4f

So that's about $5,000 a foot. Maybe he's the ideal person to sell unwanted films to. If he was willing to pay even 1% of his selling price....

This one is like a recurring headache:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ELMO-SUPER-8-ZOOM-LENS-BRIGHT-F-1-3-15-25mm-NICE-/140464868955?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b45bce5b

When? WHEN? will these folks stop trying to sell this "bright" 1.3 factory-standard Elmo lens at $100???
I sent them a polite/deliberately stupid email months ago about how they must have mixed up this lens with the 1.1 premium lens...no response of course.

All kidding aside, I would really hate for someone new to the hobby to get so caught up in "upgrading" that they don't read the ad and the f-stop numbers carefully enough to actually pay these folks that kind of money for what is a good, but by no means, $100 lens.

The very fact that they just keep re-listing it endlessly with the same ad blurb suggests in my mind that those are exactly the people they are looking for.

Claus.

This may not quite make it as the bargain of the century http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STANDARD-8-Regular-8mm-Cine-MOVIE-Film-Reel-74mm-diamet-/390255930002?pt=UK_Photography_VintagePhotography_VintagePhotoAccessories&hash=item5add10ea92

especially as you can get a similar reel loaded with 50ft of leader for less!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STANDARD-8-Cine-Leader-50ft-reel-8mm-Acetate-film-/290495921870?pt=UK_DVD_Film_TV_OtherFormats_GL&hash=item43a2e7fece

This lady goes on to describe the reels as "dials". Then, she gets the 8mm and S8 mixed up. She says the adapter is used to run 8mm films then remove is for S8. Now, here's the best part....I BOUGHT IT!. The only problem was that the belt slipped off the pulley! It works great and is like new.

Here's a guy selling episodes of "The Long Ranger." It's not just a mistake in the title; he uses it in his descriptive copy, too! "The Long Ranger."
