  • I phoned up my son Steven today and said, guess what I watched last night? give me a hint he says? well the first word you know when I go to "Muffin Break" what do they give you after five, yes he says a "free coffee".....Oh" you watched "Free Willy" correct.

The blu-ray I got from Spain both the picture and 5:1 soundtrack is really good. Back when the film came out here around 1993-94 we all went to see it. What stood out was the final credits "Will You Be There" by Michael Jackson....brilliant

What was to follow after the films release is a story in itself, still got the VHS tape.

A couple of screen shots from last night, "Note" with the "Spanish" blu-ray it goes straight to the English soundtrack. without the need to navigate through the menu

              • Its nice to watch something that's a bit different, "Steve Carell" plays a bit of a nasty in this one. Very good cast and story, I can see when watching "The Way Way Back" why New Zealand director Taika Waititi would later pick out actor "Sam Rockwell" for his later film "Jo Jo Rabbit" after watching his acting in this one.

I enjoyed "The Way Way Back" using the Epson VP, both picture and sound are very good, a nice movie

                • The Body Snatcher Val Lewton Classic with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. Retelling of Robert Louis Stevenson tale with the Burke and Hare story attached. Growing up with 8mm versions 2x400 and feature versions and then video and DVD with varying degrees of softness and darkness. This Blu ray version is superb. Earlier versions always looked like a creaky old movie this print looks pristine like a brand new film and has been graded correctly. Sound is tremendous with dialogue that was hard to hear now crystal clear. Highly Recommended release. • Body Snatcher, great little Horror film, from the two great masters, though, I think, Boris and Bela are only on screen together once.

                    • Yes, where Boris Burks (smothers) poor Bela after feeding him whiskey is the only scene together. I believe Bela was an afterthought and then his role was built up. He was in poor health at the time. The fight role was strenuous on him but most of the scenes are Karloff and Lugosi. The major fight scene between Henry Daniel and Boris is clearly stunt doubles for most of it. Maybe that’s why they printed earlier versions dark to cover it up.

                      • I'll ...buy that for a Dollar...from the "penny jar"....sounds good Mike. I am seriously looking for a HD print of the " BIg Store". Marx Bros

                        • Can’t see Big Store anywhere on either Blu ray or DVD. Looks like Marx Bros have issues with being released. Does piss you off when you see Blu rays being sold for £40.00. Who would pay that for a movie. You will have to save your pennies Mark.

                            Excellent picture and sound.

                            Highly recommend it

                            • Is it just me, or does that look quite bluish? Well, it IS from Blu-ray, snicker!

                              • More blue on this blu-ray

I always thought that New Zealand director Roger Donaldson did a pretty good job with this one. He was later to direct "The Worlds Fastest Indian" based on a well known New Zealander. That particular film was a big hit here. I remember getting a call one day from downstairs to let me know the lady who was the main actress in it, had just gone in to watch the film.....my thought at that time.... I better make sure the focus is just right
