The beautiful Heurtier P6-24B. Here's a great looking dual 8 sound projector that has one of the more convoluted threading paths and was fairly problematic in operation.

Two sentences that stand out in the description:

"STANDARD 8 IS ALSO SUPER 8"
"I HAVE NOT RUN THIS PROJECTOR IN AT LEAST 20 YEARS... BUT IT DID WORK ..."

Like most Heurtiers, better for display than use.

Most also come without the power cord that, with its proprietary plug, is just about irreplaceable.

Appreciate this guy's honesty with the photos, but I hardly think the item is "acceptable." The curse of Universal 8!

True, but he did happen to include a picture of a soaking wet Faith Domergue!

Does anyone have an idea why this auction didn't have any bids? It was up for a week with only a $.99 start price. The seller ended it just before it closed. Maybe he got a great off-ebay offer for it. [Roll Eyes]

The sellers on ebay are terrible making a price on films including movie cameras. They always put like hundreds and thousands of dollars on a single 50 ft, 200ft or more reels of common copies of films. I dont get it.

Nathan, you DO get it, it is the sellers who have no clue. They think just because they pay too much for something at an "estate" sale, add in that it is old, automatically makes it valuable.

If you ever watch the Pawn Stars show, the bald headed guy Rick once mentioned the same thing...I'm pretty sure he mentioned that about film projectors...I was in the shop a few weeks ago and what did I find? A Kodak Pageant film projector with a price tag of $500.00 on it! In the good condition it is in, I'd say $50.00 would have been more like it.

I wish I had kept the link yesterday. I found someone on craigslist who was trying to sell an "antique video projector" for several hundreds of dollars. It was nothing more than a silet 8mm Revere projector you can find at thrift stores for $20.00.

Yes i have seen that on pawn stars. I have tried look for Canon 514XL camera in 3 years. No one sells it like in between 15 to 35 dollars. One big flaw about the prices on Canon's 514XL cameras, it doesnt have cool features like time laspe, slow motion, 8x or 10x zoom lens, overlapping fades, and remote plug for sound recording. It should been like cheap it only has 9 and 18 fps including single frame on 514XL. I was not looking for mint condition 514XL but a nice working condition and clean.
Looked for online including Ebay and Cragslist and its always expensive.

Nathan, .. it seems that you are only looking at Ebay or Craiglist or Kijiji at normal category and were not thinking miss-categorized items.

Beside, I suggest you to keep looking on certain regular time (once a day instead of once a week) will bring you more big luck.

For example (I have shared in this forum), I got an ELMO GS-800 projector at Kijiji for $125 listed as video projector. I won an ELMO GS-1200 from Ebay for $240 listed as Slide Projector. I got several reels of super 8mm films listed as ......... GAME CARTRIDGES !!!! [Big Grin]

And just recently (I also shared in this forum), I got a Eumig 610 D Lux dual projector, Elmo camera super 106, Elmo dual editor, Vivitar tele-cine/transfer box, books, and film all for $60 from Kijiji (free-ad). Everything comes with manual and original box.

In the other forum, someone got :

quote:
I bought an Elmo GS1200 Genari second with lens 1.0 + a sound viewer GOKO PM 4000 + 7 reels and cans 240m Posso with home movies, with two reels and cans of 360m + a device to mix the sound for a Téléscreen Video Transfer synchronize a video of brand new + full of beautiful accessories including splicers, a second lens ELMO 1:1.1, a new lamp!

All: 50 euros!

It is around $75..... see ! It is about a continuous effort ! [Wink]

Kijiji is Ebay division for Free-classified Ad.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kijiji

It is meant to compete Craiglist.

I now prefer Kijiji than Craiglist. Craiglist is too modest for browsing, while Kijiji is close to Ebay but more local contents.

Check your local Kijiji if any.
